Found an old census from 1851 this past weekend. Had fun looking at how many "deaf dumb and idiotic" each state had

That’s funny. I read those in succession in August. A good combo

I got a nice haul for Christmas. Going to start The Nix by Nathan Hill later today. Anybody here read it?

The Nix is at the top of my list and will be difficult to surmount. I wrote a little review on it a few days ago.

The Survivor was good, but you could tell he didn’t quite get all the characters. His next Rapp books are much better.

I follow Mills on a twitter and he just finished then outline for the next Rapp book. So excited.

The first 75 pages of the Survivor was pretty miserable. I'm to about page 160 and it seems to start picking up considerably

Yeah, I had a tough time with the beginning of Survivor. Was actually quite trepidatious about reading it at first. Glad I stuck with Mills, though.

Finished Order to Kill and I will give it to Kyle, he definitely picked it up on his second shot with Mitch. It was much less about the politics and more about the ops side of Rapp. Probably my second favorite of the series. Really nice wrinkle with incorporating Claudia into the book, which I think was a smart move. Onto Enemy of the State and unfortunately the last

The Crucifixion by Fleming Rutledge. Just started it but it took the author almost 20 years to write it so it must be good.

Finished Enemy of the State just now. B-

Randomly picked up The Steel Kiss by Jeffrey Deaver at the library yesterday so I'm going to give it a shot

40 pages into above book and I put it down. It switches from 3rd to 1st person between characters/ chapters. And he write. Like this. For paragraphs at. A time. And it's infuriating

So I have Someone is Watching by Joy Fielding. Something completely different from what I've been reading but almost 100 pages and it's gotten my attention.

Happy new years to all on the book board
