I just ordered Demon Dawn by James Rollins, the next in the Sigma Force series. Will be getting Brad Thor's new one soon.
Just subscribed to an e-newsletter at TheRealBookSpy.com. They review and recommend thrillers. I follow him on Twitter and he is always tweeting about new books and authors.

I'm about 200 pages through Separation of Power and I almost want to give it up. It's been too much political shite and not enough killing. I won't put it down as I'll probably finish it tomorrow but it has been so slow

For American audiences, I think the movie will have to be quite different in its details
I just started The Martian. Loved the movie. I'm sure I will feel the same about the book.

Anyone read the Kyle Swanson sniper fiction series by Jack Coughlin?
I'm thinking of taking a break from the Rapp series and starting into it after finishing Memorial Day and Consent to Kill by Flynn. Should be done with those 2 by the middle of the week...
Nvm. Consent to Kill is so good, I've got to move on with the next. A certain thing happened in it that changed A LOT

Just started Thrawn by Timothy Zahn. Really great Star Wars book, and great insight in to how he manipulates the Empire for his gain.

I just cracked open "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. A book I bought years ago, but never got around to reading. Pretty much only five pages in so far.
Pretty good read, and leaves me intrigued about the possibilities of where certain characters in the current movies originate.

Read both Flynn books you mentioned in the last few weeks. I really get into Mitch Rapp etc.
Anyone read John Sanford, the Davenport and or Virgil Flowers books?
Just read His latest Virgil Flowers, Deep Freeze.
Sanford is damn good. I don't know how he maintains the high level of plot, drama, action and to me, the best, humor in his writing.
The conversations are like me and the guys around the camp sometimes.

I've read a lot of Stanford's Davenport books. I was on a kick with them this summer and just happened to see American Assassin and have been riding the Rapp train ever since
Consent to Kill (depending on the ending, only about 90 pages left) has been my clear cut favorite thus far.
Eta. Just finished it and it is a DAMN good book. I highly recommend it

Finally getting around to reading The Godfather. Been on my list for a long time, but the wife got it for me for my birthday.
Surprising how close it is to the movie so far

I loved The Godfather. May have to read again soon. Luca Brasi is a scary bastard in book.

I haven't read these. But do you read Brad Thor? He's also really good.

I read Sanford. His books are very good.
I read James Patterson, Richard North Patterson, Sanford, Vince Flynn, Kyle Mills (his pick-up up Rapp and I'm about to start his other characters) Brad Thor, and I've been following a lot of thriller authors on Twitter and getting lots of book recs from TheRealBookSpy.
