The Paris apartment- Lucy foley

Needed a palate cleanser for a mystery after I finished up “the First World War “ by John Keegan and I didn’t care for it at all. Didn’t mention American involvement hardly at all in the entire conflict

Martin Gilbert’s WW1 was much better and more comprehensive

Mikael Lindnord

Christmas gift this year. I’m a third of the way through this book and the dog has only been mentioned twice.

Finished two recently:

The Babb book started a little slow, put definitely pulled me in. Do recommend.

The Pearlman book was okay. He always gets a ton of behind the scenes dirt, but this book seemed a bit more editorial than some of his others. It gave me pause about reading his Bo Jackson book.

Just finished Reclaiming History by Bugliosi (second time I have read it) and now I am reading Starkweather by Harry MacLean about Charles Starkweather, the 19 year old serial killer from Nebraska back in 1958.

Really enjoying Abercrombie's writing style and character building. It's starting slow (I'm about a quarter of the way through) but it's doing enough to keep me interested, entertained, and looking forward to more.

I finished fourth wing, and I gotta say that I enjoyed it more than I expected. It's like a more grown up Harry Potter. My wife and I have very different taste in books. She asked me to read Fourth Wing and she's reading Beartown, on my recommendation.
