Well, since they already set up Abe and Eugene patrolling together, I would be absolutely shocked if he makes it to the season finale.
I really want Daryl to meet Lucille. He used to be untouchable, but is that really still the case? His character has peaked from a storytelling standpoint. What really endured him to the fans was his growth from being basically a lap dog for his brother, to being the guy that felt he had to protect everyone. Now just about all of the remaining people in "Rick's crew" can more than take care of themselves, he's sort of outlived his role. Plus, I'd just love to see the melt from everyone.
In a way, I'd like for them to keep Glenn around so that they can keep a family unit around, and show them trying to build a family in either Alexandria or Hilltop. Plus, with them pulling the crap they did in the 1st half of this season with Glenn, I'm not sure even the hodors would be all that shocked to see Glenn get killed.
And I'm still holding out hope that Carol will make good on her promise, and kill Morgan. While I know it won't happen, that would be the perfect end to Morgan's pacifist arse.

We are on season 6, the show will need to start doing drastic things to keep people interested. How much longer can this show go?
ETA: I don't think Abraham is a big enough character for that to be the "big" season ending event. If I had to guess, he dies here shortly and then one of Daryl/Carol/Glenn die also in the finale. I would guess Glenn.

That's the problem that the comics have run into. It's gonna be extremely difficult to move on after all out war.

i think you can continue to world-build in an interesting way; quite obviously there would be dozens of other settlements within travel distance, and hundreds/thousands within eventual reach
what interests me and has from the beginning is the notion that now, without a cure, there can never be an end to the ZA...they will never "run out of zombies". plenty of places this could go, if they want to keep it in production

I think, eventually, the storyline will circle back around to the group trying to find a cure. They will run into another group/settlement that has heard of or knows of a place working on a cure and the group will try to find that place.
It's either that, or this becomes the new world and we just watch as the settlements become more and more populated and get bigger and bigger until we have a mad max type of world with different groups vying for territory.

They are all going to die at the end. Carl is going to fall to the dark side and kill everybody. Then he will be swarmed by walkers. Roll credits.

But hasn't Kirkman said that he wasn't going to focus on the what started it, or a cure?

He said he didn't want Walking Dead to be about the how of a zombie apocalypse. If they don't answer how the virus started and spread in the "Fear the Walking Dead" series, I don't think we'll ever find out.
