I wish I could forget everything about Era 2 and read SoS again for the first time. Probably my favorite Mistborn book.
Interesting. It might be my least favorite Cosmere book in total. What did you like about it? It felt like I was reading a filler or side story novel.

Wind and Truth
I’m still disappointed and annoyed about Wind and Truth. The book didn’t end or solve anything, multiple characters either regressed or fell apart completely, half the plot lines he was developing became meaningless, not too mention all the random fluff and nonsense he shoe horned in for seemingly no reason other than he’s either succumbed to his ego to the detriment of his art or he’s trying to fit in with a crowd he shouldn’t be. Bummer. The more I think about it the more I hate that book. Hopefully he sticks the landing in 10 years or whatever and this book was just a bump in the road.
At least Taravangian and Adolin are still awesome. I’m very interested to do a reread based on what I know now.
Going to start with Sunlit man, Warbreaker and Era 2 Mistborn before diving back into Stormlight.

I thought wind of truth dragged also. What is sunlit man, i didnt see it in the list of books on the first page? Also should i read mistborn or start another series. Which one would be the best to go to ?

It was released as part of his kickstarter: it’s a stand alone book with a very different tone. It’s a fun quick paced action read. It does have one cosmere characters in it but it’s not related to anything else. I loved it. Very different feel from Stormlight.

Mistborn is great. The first trilogy is very YA oriented and it was early in Sanderson’s career but it has some great moments and great characters you should read it. The second era Mistborn is absolutely phenomenal.

It’s been said in one of these threads but the story and stakes in Mistborn era one are bigger but the characters/writing are much better in second era.
I don’t know why but I could not get into sunlit man which was weird cus it was my most looked forward to secret project. Need to read again I might have gone in with too high expectations. Just did not give a frick about the science etc.

Ends of things
Kaladin‘s arch as a slave, normal man, leader, and ending as a Harold to guide and lead a different group next series
Dalinar, dude is freaking dead
Adolin, gone from being a normal shard barrier to leading some new unknown order that have shards without oaths
Szeth's story was pretty awesome
Shallan stuck some place but honestly I’ve never cared for her story so didn’t remember much from it

And that's really downplaying his journey a bit. Raised as a healer, trained at war, talented leader, betrayed by his leadership and made a slave, became a reluctant leader, earned his freedom, became a legendary warrior, struggled with manic depression, became a herald (he would have had to go to White Castle to be a Harold).

It starts awkward but it gets better. Back half picks up.

In kind of an odd quote from Brandon, but he says he thinks of the 2nd series in his head as "the Voidlight Archives", because "Stormlight doesn't exist anymore". He said it will not be called that though. It might be called "warlight or something"

Wow.
I hated Sunlit man with every fiber of my being. Literally the only Cosmere book I could not finish, I didn't even make it halfway. And I have had no desire to ever go back

Really? It was way different but I still enjoyed it.
Finished Isles of Embedark. I enjoyed it, expanded the cosmere background…. Not incredible though

It was dogshit (sunlit man)
I literally can’t count how much I hated it and I’m a cosmere junkie

What was it you hated so much about it?

It was unbelievably boring, poorly written to the point of being utter confusion, and weirdly conceived. I just hated it...and I love Sanderson. Also I prefer Fantasy to SciFi by a lot these days and this was definitely more SciFi
I will go back and read it before Stormlight Era 2, maybe I will "get it"

Anyone read emberdark yet?

Yes. Like where it looks like the future of the cosmere is going. The book was solid but nothing great. Seeing characters from Yolen was cool. Glad to see Sixth again.

Hello all, I dont venture to this side often but got excited to see a Cosmere thread. I am halfway through the 5th book and read all the novella (except Dawnshard) for the Stormlight.
Should I move to Mistborn next?

You probably should have read Mistborn 1-3 and era 2 1-3 before reading book 4 of stormlight. And then the end of era 2 before Book 5
So yeah you should
There are going to be several things that make no sense to you whatsoever until after you read mistborn era 2
