I will be honest:
I went and read every single chapter name. First of all, the amount of them is fricking daunting.
Second, while most of them told me nothing...some of them I have an inkling of what they may mean and I am worried

I have about 300 pages left on my RoW re-read (the trial just started - iykyk). I downloaded the new book this morning on my iPad. Is it just a ridiculous page count or was my interwebz being slow? That download was the slowest book download I think I've had yet.

That's saying something.

I set it next to RoW when I got home. Not only is it thicker, but the margins are noticably narrower. They squeezed as much as possible into this absolute tome.

I have to decide whether I try and wait for Libby to get it at the Dallas Library (was not there today), or just bite the bullet and buy it on my kindle for $20.
Is that market price for books these days? Or just because it is like 5 books in one?

That’s the market price. You might be able to do a free trial of Kindle Unlimited. I’m not sure if new releases are available through that program.

I think it's been posted already, but does anyone have a good link to a video, podcast, or even well-written summary that would refresh me on the series up to this point?

Showing as 62 hours on Audible. I’m ready for it.
Although I wonder if a shorter book would’ve meant the next one could come out sooner

There's not going to be a next Stormlight book for a long while.
He's going to work on the Mistborn Era 3 Trilogy all at once, finish that entire thing at the same time and then they will be released 1 year apart.
He won't even start working on Stormlight Era 2 for like 5 years I think?
His plans do change though

If you haven't done at least one re-read, do yourself a favor and do it. I had only read the series once and that was when RoW came out. There's an absolute ton I had forgotten (because there's just so freaking much and it all matters) that it's almost like reading it for the first time.
But in case you don't have that much time: Bookborn (it's 1.5 hours)

I bit the bullet. Finishing calls at 5:30 then gonna dive in

Ah, frick
I thought he’d release the next one in 5 years. Personally I’d much rather him finish Storm light before starting another mistborn era.

Elantris 2 & 3 then Mistborn Era 3. I THINK the plan is another SLA book 2030-2031 is what he's been saying.
Plus with the GBs becoming more prominent in these last 2 SLA books he's probably gonna want to update us a little on Scadrial a little bit before book 6.

Think he said there’s Warbreaker 2 in there as well. We’re getting sixth of the dusk/yolen book out sometime soon. He released some chapters for that already.

I thought these were books he wants to write but no set timeframe. Elantris is the only Cosmere book I did not like. He’s a better writer now than when he wrote it but I didn’t even care about the world.

He backtracked a while back on that which is REALLY annoying. There's enough tie-ins to make it worthwhile plus 1 ended so abruptly. State of Sanderson last year was SLA > finish White Sand > Mistborn era 3 (ghostbloods) > proooobably Elantris 2-3.

Did you read the expanded edition? The expanded edition makes it a little better but yeah its still rough.

No I listened to the audiobook. Did not enjoy the narration. Could be wrong but I don’t think it was Kramer

I don't understand the elantris hate. I enjoyed the audiobook

Just finished Wind and Truth.
Really liked the book. The pacing was great throughout and I was interested in pretty much every storyline.
I will say though, I thought the story was semi vanilla and I was hoping for there to be a little more intrigue in the backstory.
Sets up the cosmere well though
