So I have a Tiger Woods-esque obsession with the Navy SEALS, however, I don’t plan to train with them. It started when I read Lone Survivor this past summer. Then I read 2 good fiction series by Brad Thor and Jack Carr... entertaining stuff. My son bought me No Easy Day for Christmas, which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Curious if anyone has any good suggestions fiction or non... SEALS or Delta Force... really any special forces or special ops. Thankful for any input.

I haven't read it, but my brother liked Rogue Warrior by Dick Marcinko (1st commanding officer of SEAL Team Six). I actually met him about 15 years ago. It was sort of surreal because the guy was obviously up there in age but had a black ponytail down his back which was jet black and was surrounded by three older cougars. Strange guy.

Jack Carr is former Navy Seal that has had 3 books come out. Great series so far. Terminal List is first book.

Fearless is a great book about a Navy Seal from Arkansas. If you liked Lone Survivor you will like it.

Jocko's stuff has a broader application, but he uses all sorts of SEAL training and experience in his books.

If you're wanting to read about missions and such, then he's not really the answer, but Jocko's podcast (or just listen to some other podcasts he's appeared on like Tim Ferriss or Joe Rogan) is solid.

Extreme Ownership is also a good read for organizations/teams and leaders. My team read it and got quite a lot out of it.

SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL Sniper by Howard E. Wasdin was a pretty good read. He talks about his time in SEAL Team 2 and how he made it to Team 6. Then he tells about his time in Somalia and his part in the Battle of Mogadishu.

Haha. No. I work in education (founded and lead a high school). By “team” I just meant my team at work.

I do love SEALs though and know a few. They’re a different breed.

Really appreciate the replies. I have several books from this thread on order from Amazon, as well as Men in Green Faces. Been listening to Jocko’s podcast and it’s right up my alley. I’d never heard of him before. Gnarly shite.

This is an excellent book that has become a trilogy. Written by a former Seal.

Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney was my favorite, and I’ve read every SOF book I could get my hands on for the last decade
