I'm going to give you some of my favorites:
On the Trail of the Assassins (not that I believe Garrison was a good guy, but it's interesting from his perspective)
Mafia Kingfish
Case Closed (I'm between Posner and Garrison on the conspiracy thing, but Posner's research and references are unimpeachable)
Rush to Judgment
And, of course, you should absolutely start with the Warren Commission report, but go in with a grain of salt.
Bonus: Oswald's Tale (I have only skimmed this one, but come on, Norman Mailer)

Mafia Kingfish
Case Closed (I'm between Posner and Garrison on the conspiracy thing, but Posner's research and references are unimpeachable)

A basic but well written book is Five Days in November by Clint Hill, a secret service agent in the car behind Kennedy's.

Case Closed by Gerald Posner. I have read a bunch of them. Some of the gossipy and speculative conspiracy theory books can be entertaining, especially the ones with a New Orleans connection, but I find Posner's book to be the most authoritative.

If you haven't already, go to Dealey Plaza and the 6th Floor Museum.

It wouldn't be an easy shot but not as miraculous as the conspiracy folks like to make it out.
