Michale J. Sullivan's Riyaria books are available as audio books, haven't read them but they get very strong reviews.

Not sure what all else is out there in terms of audiobooks though.

Your big fat liar! The only one who has finished King killer is Rothfuss

I am not an audiobook guy, but I am told that the wheel of time series is a good listen. I see you have read the series, but if only once, I can tell you that the second and third times through are equally gratifying. I would imagine that the audio version would give the same enjoyment.

You planning on taking a long trip?

Tim Gerard Reynolds (GOAT) narrates Riyira (sp?) And Prince of Fools. Both are very good. Brent Weeks Lightbringer series is narrated well. McClellan's Powder Mage series. Anthony Ryan's Draconis Memoria. All are good narrations.

Hyperion. It takes a while to get going in the first book, but you will immediately want to start the second book.

Would you recommend this or Riyira or Prince of Fools to start out with?

I want to buy and read Lightbringer and Powdermage, but have to drive to Shreveport next week so am going to start one of the above 3 series for audiobook

Michale J. Sullivan's Riyaria Chronicals is great.

I read the prequal trilogy first not knowing that it was the prequal to Riyaria. It called Legends of the First Empire and thought it was amazing also.

Riyira, definitely. Great story with very fun characters who are developed very well throughout the series.

You should look into the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks.

My next recommendation would one of the trilogies by Mark Lawrence (Prince of Fools is the start of one of those, but I've only read the Prince of Thorns one).

I just finished book 1 and 2 and completely agree with this statement.

How are books 3 and 4? I just started book 3 and it seems to be a big shift from the events and characters in 1 and 2.

Book 3 is a very big shift but I loved it. Haven't read book 4 yet.

A lot of people arent as big on 3 and 4, but I thought 3 was at least as good as 1 and 2

I find myself not really following the story as much when I listen to audiobooks, does anyone else have this problem?

I find the opposite. When I read on a kindle I find myself jumping sentences when the action is good.

I do that to at the end lol, when I want to see what happens. I guess its mainly been with listening to Dune books 2 and 3, which are a bit more meta - sci fi it seems and not as action packed.

I listen to audio-books on the road lately, but I am trying not to listen to stuff I really want to read because i tend to sort of daydream sometimes and miss a bunch of the story. Maybe just need to pick better audiobooks

Just listened to the first law trilogy for the first time since reading them in high school. Incredible Pacey is the best narrator I’ve listened to since James Marsters in Dresden...

Oh, if you haven’t done Dresden, that is fantastic as well. Urban fantasy
