I’m wrapping up the Farseer series by Robin Hobb which is Fantastic. I really want to dive into something similar. Good characters, world building, etc. I would really prefer series vs a single book. Some series I’ve read so you all know my style:

WOT
LOTR
GOT
Memory Sorrow and Thorn (listening to its sequel)
Ryria
Harry Potter
Mistborn/Stormlight
Kingkiller
Faithful and Fallen
Codex Alera
First Law

Gentleman Bastards series. Though I'm reluctant to recommend it because the series isn't finished and is never likely to ever be finished.

The only person on the planet more lazy than GRRM.

I stopped after Lies since it could technically be viewed as a stand alone. Man I loved that book. I'm just kind of done supporting authors that can't finish books.

Thanks all. I’ve read the first four of Red Rising but will likely reread once the series is finished

Did you enjoy these? I started the first book years ago but never finished for some reason. I dusted up my old kindle for the trip and it’s still on there so going to try it out

There were some ups and downs, but overall a great series and fun to read.

There's also The Band series by Nicholas Eames. Though there are only two books published thus far.

Its a world where mercenaries are treated like rock stars. I haven't read the second book yet, but I enjoyed the first one - Kings of the Wyld - immensely.

Don't start GOT or Kingkiller if you're wanting an ending..

Have you read the Dresden Files (assuming you have since you have Codex Alera on your list)?

The first book of Cradle is kind of like the second Dresden Files book, solid but not amazing. After that it ramps up quickly and is just solid fun the rest of the way. It takes off once he adds Lindon's companions in the story, as he's more the straight man badass.

And unlike Dresden Files the series is finished and doesn't really fall off once it takes off.

I need to start a series. Plan to start with The Hobbit and continue down the LOTR saga.

I enjoyed the GOT series.

The Eragon books were really good. Falls right in with what you want.

I read the original four books, but there is a fifth that just came out.

Took me forever to get through AQ. Hobb had a whole lot of pointless filler in that book.
I just started rereading Wizards First Rule - the first of the Sword of Truth series. Read it back during high school and never kept going with the series. Saw it at 2nd and Charles the other day and grabbed the first three.
