My brother told me the same. I’m so glad he put me on to these audiobooks. I do Walmart Spark as a side hustle so I’m in my car delivering groceries quite a bit and these books have made my work days so much better.

I'm going to do the audiobooks after I finish the series. I still like to read and it gives me a good end of night routine. The problem with these is I can't stop reading and I stay up all hours of the night. I started the series August 8th and I'm already through book 5.

As much as people pump the audiobooks, and they are genuinely great, this is the way. No one can focus on an audiobook in the way they do a written book. Even though I've already read the series and am listening to the audiobooks subsequently, I absolutely have moments when I realize I lose focus and lost time, which is easier being I already know what is happening. I don't think people realize how much they miss when they "multitask", even with mild multitasking like distance driving. It absolutely makes the task more pleasant, but it's never going to be the same level of immersion as reading a book.

Everyone listens differently but after listening to over 150hrs I've dialed in my method. My time listening is always during one of two activities:
1. Driving (to work, vacations, trips to Baton Rouge)
2. Running (~an hour a day)

Like I said, I consider driving to be "mild" multitasking. I would putting running in the same category. Same thing for when I'm walking my dog. Much, much better than most other forms of multitasking, but still objectively worse from an attention perspective to reading written word, in my opinion.

I started the audiobooks around same time and I’m about into chapter 12 or so on book 5. Without spoilers let’s just say mongo met a “friend “ where I am in the book.

Hadn't heard that one yet, but I can see it.
Side note on Team Meadow Lark, I have so many theories on Agatha, it better come to a head at some point.
Just met Lazarus-A-Bang-Bang and it's about as awesome as I expected when I realized what they were going to do.

I recently started reading again and I chose DCC because of a recommendation on this board.
Holy shite!!!
Are there other series with this kind of fan fare? DCC is all over the place.
Also, you either know about it or you don’t, and it’s really hard to describe this series to anyone because when you start to explain it, you just sound crazy.
I’ve ready every book and can’t wait for the next.

Got all 8 paperbacks signed by Matt and Jeff now. DragonCon was fricking awesome and saw a bunch of great panels with Matt and Jeff. Had Jeff yelling at us in the parade as Donut. fricking awesome Labor Day.

Just finished The Eye of the Bedlam Bride. Really enjoyed it overall but disappointed some of the "characters" we won't get to see again. So many great moments from Chapter 52 onward.

Just finished reading this last night. Stayed up an extra 3 hours to finish and am dragging today. The last 3rd of the book is non-stop insanity.

Agree 100%. The moment they get to the trailer at the end of Phase 2 until the end was such a great listen.
