Grey Scale, Pale Mare and White Walkers? Damn! Half of Westeros will be dead, not to mention monochromatic.
This has been my crackpot theory for a while. GRRM is setting us up for the ultimate kill, the killing of a continent.

Great, you figured it out. Now Dream of Spring has been pushed back 10 more years

Think about it: a lot of people are going to die in the last 2 books. On top of Winter starting, most regions are going to run out of food/have severe famine--except for Dorne, the Reach (that is, until Euron and the Iron Born raid and plunder it), and perhaps the Vale since they've been untouched and probably saved a lot of food. I could see Littlefinger furthering his power due to the Vale having a food surplus/storage.
Greyscale+Pale Mare+White Walkers+Famine=Westeros is screwed.
GRRM bases a lot of events in his books on European history--so why not have a Westerosi Black Plague?? 3/4th's of Europe were wiped out from the Black Plague...I imagine having a Greyscale plague/Pale Mare plague/widespread famine will wipe out 1/2 of Westeros..and that's not even counting what the Others will do once they breach the Wall and head South. FWIW I'm in the camp who think that Winter is going to spread to Dorne...as for the Others, some fans don't think they'll go beyond the Trident, but I think they're going to wreck shite and go South....a lot of the characters who view themselves as players, i.e. Varys, Littlefinger, Cersei in her own delusional mind, the Tyrells, the Martells, etc. are all going to be so fricked.

Hopefully, he doesn't change his outcomes based off of theories. I believe every possible ending has been covered on the webs.

I'm with you on this. I think "Dream of Spring" will be death and Exodus to Essos.

Dany will still be in Meereen and accept the Westerosi evacuees.

But it seems to be a general concensus amoung book readers that Patchface is bad/will play a large role in something bad. If thats the case, why was he left out of the show/who is replacing him?
Because he's really not that important?
It's the shows way of letting the book readers know and also spoiling the upcoming books at the same time

I can see that.
Then everyone will be begging the white walkers for their gift of blue eyes

David and Dan will change that for the series finale--the Westerosi evacuees in Meereen, and she'll crowd surf on them too.

Littlefinger as an other. Now that is as evil as it gets.

I would likely kill someone if that happened.

I certainly think the winter weather will touch Dorne. But I kind of like this event from Dany's dream:
quote:
That night she dreamt she was Rhaegar, riding to the Trident. But she was mounted on a dragon, not a horse. When she saw the Usurper’s rebel host across the river they were armored all in ice, but she bathed them in dragonfire and they melted away like dew and turned the Trident into a torrent. Some small part of her knew that she was dreaming, but another part exulted. This is how it was meant to be. The other was a nightmare, and I have only now awakened.

Davos and Mel have touched Shireen, Dany has touched people with Pale Mare, and Same kinda touched a WW and they're ok.
Ok the Sam one is a stretch

Just finished all 14 novels of Wheel of Time. Really good series, but did not accomplish my goal of stretching them until the release of Winds
Going to have to dig in for the long haul I suppose...

I'd suggest giving Robin Hobb's books from the Farseer universe a shot next, I thought they were decent filler while waiting for WoW.

There are fourteen books in the series, all of which continue the same story, weaving towards the ultimate climax. Books 12 through 14 were completed by fantasy author Brandon Sanderson, who was chosen by Robert Jordan's widow after he passed away. Robert Jordan left behind an abundance of notes and audio recordings, which allowed his family and Mr. Sanderson to tie up the series in a way that very closely matches his original vision.
Foreshadowing? frick.....

One of my friends has been reading Wheel of Time for a while and is only on book 8...she started AGoT recently and I'm going to lend her my S1 DVD set when she finishes it.
