Cold Hands isn't an other, if anything last night solidified this. We have seen live people turned, and we have seen dead people turned, they all have blue eyes. Cold Hands had black eyes and rode an elk, a living elk.
We've only seen the Others 3 times so far in the novel, and whose to say they don't do that? I just don't think Waymar Royce would be a good candidate for that.
Decent point about the eyes though. The Others have their own brand of magic though, they used it to make Coldhands eyes black. Blue eyes I think Sam and Gilly would have ran for their lives knowing for a fact that he was an Other.

We also know that the others have a hatred of fire, steel, and iron. Cold hands wields a sword. I'm not saying its impossible, I just think its more likely that he is a servant to Bloodraven rather than the others. I do not think the two are allied.
Interesting things that we know:
-It appears that only men of the night's watch, or their sacrificed baby boys, can become others.
-13 Others shown.
-The first hero rode out with 12 companions.
-The night's king was the 13th lord commander, and ruled for 13 years. Was Bran Stark. Fell in love with an other, gave her his seed and soul before enslaving the men of the watch with his sorcery. Was overthrown by his brother and the king beyond the wall after 13 years.

Can you give some evidence as to why you think this? So far I have never seen anything to indicate they are good or evil. They did kill those members of the NW in the first prologue but we have no clue as to what may have caused them to do that
they evil cuz they look evil

Bran the Builder built the wall
how do we know for certain Bran the Builder built the wall? because someone south of the wall said he did?
if something north of the wall built it, I doubt people south of the wall would admit it...

Black cat is bad luck, bad guys wear black
Musta been a white guy who started all that
(Make the Gas Face!) For those little white lies
My expression to the mountainous blue eyes
Then form a face, and shake my skull cap
Dismiss the myth, that evil is not black
But opposite spectrum, this done by red man
With horns on his head, laid down the ill plan
Got all his helpers, said, "Make it snappy!
Tell all the people that their hair can't be nappy!"
Blonde and blue-eyed, or dark-skinned heffer, G
A disease, created by leprosy
Don't speak of bleach, bend them to right
Say it was night WAY before the light
Put aside spooks, Serch leaves a trace
I've set em correct with the effect of the Gas Face
old arse rap song popped in my head.
Night's watch, take the Black... Bad guys wear black. Hmmm.

We don't know for certain because that was only revealed through Old Nan stories and I think through Sam's study of those old arse books at Castle Black. So its very possible that some of the past events have been changed slightly through the years. But if you look up anything on the wiki regarding the Wall or Bran the Builder etc it says that he built the Wall and it is kinda his claim to fame so to speak along with building Winterfell itself

found this interesting from your other post
that seems to be a pretty big plot point to not be sure about
quote:
Steps were taken to ensure that the people would never be caught offguard by an invasion from the North again. Bran the Builder supposedly raised the Wall, an imposing structure of solid ice and magic, stretching one hundred leagues from the Gorge in the west to the Shivering Sea in the east, cutting off the Lands of Always Winter from the remainder of Westeros. The Night's Watch guarded the Wall and protected the people from the threat that lay to the north
that seems to be a pretty big plot point to not be sure about

Anyone have any guesses what Catelyn's role will be in the upcoming books?

I do think she'll soon take over Riverrun and have a surprise party for the Freys stationed there, but other than that I don't have a clue.

Stoneheart? Yeah, I would say beyond any doubt she'll find her. I'm pretty sure Stoneheart would have made it really clear where to bring the Kingslayer.

She takes Jaime somewhere... probably to Uncat.

Was referring to Catelyn mostly, since her original oath was to her.

I don't think Brienne will make it much longer. Cersei is docile for now, but the first thing she'll command once she wins her trial is for some men to find Jaime and Brienne, kill Brienne, and bring Jaime to her alive and in shackles.

Why would she do this? I know she took a vow to Catelyn but she loves Jaime.
Would she be taking him there so that UnCat could kill him?

Uncat is holding Podrick as a hostage?
