Do any of yall believe that Syrio=Jaquen?

I think UnCat will use Jamie as some kind of entrance into the Frey-Lannister wedding at Riverrun. Remember, Jamie spotted the singer(name?) outside of Riverrun and talked to him. He was headed in to entertain the household. That wedding will have big time bloodshed.

It would be only fitting

My only hang up with Syrio = Jaqen is that Ned hired him. I feel like Ned would do some due diligence before letting some strange man spend so much time with his daughter. I think Syrio was/is exactly who he said he was/is.
I have another question. Do you pronounce Frey like fry or fray? Ive said Fry this entire time and cant remember how they said it in the show since I haven't watched the second season yet.

It is very possible that Syrio Forel was actually a real person and actually the first sword of braavos who was killed by a faceless man who then took his identity.

I did until I read this:
quote:
n 2005, GRRM pointed out that Syrio seems to have been left in a hopeless situation when he was last seen, and suggested readers should "draw your own conclusions" based on this (SSM), which seems to imply that Syrio Forel was in fact killed. More recent reports (but, it should be said, unconfirmed) indicate GRRM does not understand why he gets asked the question repeatedly, pointing out that Syrio is not immortal; if accurate, this seems to more heavily imply that Syrio Forel is dead.

The Freys are fricking terrible. I hate them as a whole. There is just way too many of them and they're boring.

I'm sure Syrio was killed but what about the Faceless man who was impersonating him?
fwiw I don't really believe it either. I think Jaquen H'gar was a man who was already in the black cells and the Faceless man killed him and impersonated him to catch a trip to the wall (maybe he was going after Maester Aemon considering he later altered his path and went to Oldtown)

Touché
Interesting. I hadn't thought about the Aemon angle.

My only issue with that is who would be going after Aemon and why?
Varys and Illyrio would be the obvious answers however why? Hes old as sin and not a threat to Aegon or Dany's claim to the throne.
Maybe the Citadel for some reason? However then that leads me to the question of why the alchemist needed to steal a key?

I know how you could see this, but she is just entirely too badass. Not gonna happen. She is only coming back to the Seven Kingdoms to wreck shite.

Maybe if this was Dean Koontz or something

Speaking of that key in Oldtown, did they ever expand upon why that guy was killed to get the key? It may have been something that I read and soon forgot.

Anyone else think the Boltons/Freys in the North will be of minor significance? IMO, I don't see anyway they win because that leaves them to deal with the wights & walkers which would be retarded.
Yes, they are punk bitches. I don't see either of those houses being part of the long term plans.

I think Stannis & co. crush them somehow,
Then he's not dead according to you? I didn't believe the letter that was delivered to the Wall at the end of ADWD, but I am wondering why you think so.

I love the Boltons
Yeah, we've already discussed your twisted arse psychology. You probably rooted for Dahmer too.

I don't know if I'd say I "believe" it, but it certainly seems like a possibility. That would be one of the least surprising things that has happened so far for me.

There is definitely something going on at the Citadel that we know very little about at this point. The guy the took Samwell at The Citadel is part of a group that will play a very prominent role, IMO. What exactly that is, I do not know yet. There seems to be 2 groups at Oldtown that oppose each other.

That's another interesting aspect of the story. Anytime the Citadel is mentioned by a non-Westerosi, they usually mention something about Marwyn. That dude will play a big part in the future.
