Trent Richardson Still Believes He'll Make It Into The NFL Hall of Fame
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson did not play football last season after being released by the Raiders in August. He's also played for the Browns and Colts while never averaging more than 3.6 yards per carry in an NFL season. Currently, he is one of six running backs trying to make the Baltimore Ravens. But don't tell Richardson it's over, he still thinks he'll make it to the NFL Hall of Fame. Per ESPN...

When asked by Comcast SportsNet how his story would end, Richardson said: "Putting on a yellow jacket."

"As a person at that time, mentally [I] wasn't stable enough to play football, for any level," Richardson told Comcast SportsNet. "My mindset wasn't right for it. I had too much going on outside of football. The football was always there, but everything that carried on outside the field, it carried onto the field. I couldn't think about football all the time. Football became little to me at the time."

"This is a good chance of being my last ride when it comes to proving myself in the NFL," Richardson said. "I know myself that I'm not done in the NFL, don't want to be done. I got a taste of what that felt like. To tell my kids that their father didn't have a job, it was big for me. I'm here. I'm going to be here for a while."

He could have been talking about the sweet yellow jacket at T-Town menswear. I think he gets a discount there anyhow.

When he says "putting on a yellow jacket", maybe that is code for starring in another amateur pron video and getting his chest peed on by some other dudes.

To be fair, would you want a professional athlete to have anything but the utmost confidence? The mental aspect of sports is so underrated.

There's a difference between confidence and arrogance. This is an arrogant statement. He could have easily said "making an impact and playing for a long time."
