Well, that didn't last very long. One day after New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. set the world record with 33 one-handed catches, Iowa Hawkeyes wideout Tevaun Smith broke it by catching 41 passes with only one hand. Check it out...

"Tell him to try it with the same # of balls Odell and Brees used. He had about 10 throws he actually had to throw back to Brees."

Not to mention, NFL balls vs college balls, inside vs outside, etc

One handed catches aren't as big of a deal now as they were 20+ years ago. They happened regularly, especially with the adhesive gloves that are put out now. Just watch sportscenter on a saturday night in the fall. All the one handed catches you can handle.

They had a better ball handling system and more balls to work with. There were too many delays during Beckham's. They didn't have a smoother system with the buckets or as many balls readily available. There was a point where Odell had to return the balls to Brees just to get more catches. That right there could have been another 5 catches easily if Brees had been fed the balls better.

If a receiver could have2 or 3 guys throwing balls he could get even more, I might do it tomorrow
