Legendary Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops isn't a fan of what he's seeing from the sport today...

"It’s a pro model right now with college football. It’s a pro model. So the NCAA isn’t governing it," Stoops said. "We need to have a commissioner. We gotta have salary caps on what you can spend. You’ve gotta have contracts, on and on. I don’t see how you cannot if it’s going to continue this way."

he's not wrong. Between NIL and (even worse) the portal (with immediate play and no 1-year wait) the players are for-sale every year. My emotional attachment to college football has definitely subsided the last few years.

All these dinosaurs miss the days of duffel bags and white envelopes getting passed underneath dorm room doors - when were these guys complaining about the salary cap back then?

Sure this new model sucks too and is unsustainable, but at the end of the day get your money up or go home.
