According to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, the Big Ten is holding off on adding either Oregon or Washington to the conference for now. It's, instead, waiting on Notre Dame...
Do you see the Fighting Irish joining the conference?

Why do so many people care about a Catholic School that hasn’t been so much of a mites bite on a bull’s arse in the last 20 years?

If you have to ask why Notre Dame football is a big deal then I don't know if anyone can help you

good lord, gizmo. Notre Dame is still one of the biggest draws in college football. Tradition and history that's unparalleled. That's why. (and by the way, I'm not an ND fan, by any stretch).

Because despite their ratings being down as of late, ND draws viewers. You still don't get that this is all about money, do you?

As long as Notre dame can schedule quality football games I doubt they care to be in a football conference. Their name has carried them.

Time will tell if it bites them in the butt, or if they care.

Yes, I think Notre Dame will see they'd better get into either the Big Ten or the SEC if they want to move forward in the changing landscape.

If Notre Dame joins the SEC I’m done with college sports.

I was done with college sports when they started openly paying these amateur athletes millions…I’ll still keep up with lsu’s scores etc… but the days where I spent a whole Saturday watching games are over…

I disagree. With UCLA & USC there are now two conferences the size of the two NFL conferences. I think Notre Dame goes to the ACC and the 3 conferences leverage that existing TV deal to break away completely from the NCAA in football. December will turn into a 8-16 team playoff schedule. The NFL adding a week to their January schedule allows athletes to take finals and then go right into a 16 team playoff.
