That huge crowd would make Ole Miss' athletic department jealous.

Why was this game not played in Tampa in April?

well people show up in 30 degree snowy weather for football games. Maybe it's because baseball is painfully slow, with little real action, and there are 162 games, which renders each one basically meaningless.

Or the fact that there are 81 home games vs 8. You might be willing to miss 1 of 81 but hard pressed to miss 1 of 8 if you are paying thousands of dollars for season tickets.

"Or the fact that there are 81 home games vs 8. You might be willing to miss 1 of 81 but hard pressed to miss 1 of 8 if you are paying thousands of dollars for season tickets" ..... correct, thus verifying my "importance" argument of each game. Each baseball game is 0.62% of the season, i.e, meaningless.

It verifies only your own feelings. Personally if my lifestyle permitted it I would be at every single home game for my team. To each his own. No reason to treat your opinion as a fact on the internet.

My entire HS baseball career in WI. Field looks sort of okay i guess, lets get one in. Did you get those hand warmers? Did coach get that propane heater? Ahh shet we're suspose to get three inches of snow later? Game is cancelled now due to the cold? We're still practicing in the gym though, okay.

frick that, I've played in enough ballgames where it's around 35 degrees out there and windy. frick going and sitting through one.

Well, that one tweet is retarded since it wasn't opening day for the Sox. At least they still played, unlike the Cubs.

"At least they played, unlike the Cubs." This is true.

Why can’t MLB just start the season playing indoors and at Southern ballparks. Then Northern teams will get more home games during their beautiful summers.

Let's face it: most franchises, even if they play in the south or in a dome, don't want to play midweek home games this early in the season because kids are out of school and attendance is lower. Why should the northern teams get to hide behind the weather to get better dates for home games?
