Many pictures and videos have been floating around social media recently of LSU players wearing uniforms that look a little different from what the Tigers wore last year.

The difference is in the shoulder stripes which don't go completely around the shoulders.

Here is last years jersery to compare:

Definite improvement. More proportional to the design and stitch lines of the jersey.

As long as the helmets keep the glossy finish...

I would have never noticed the difference if I hadn't been informed of the uniform change by this article.

Uniform manufacturers are just cheap now, stripes used to go all the way around the arm or shoulder and connect under the sleeve. This half stripe is just a cost savings and requires less workmanship to produce. This is not specific to LSU but to all teams.

I like this a lot. It looks clean and is the same style we wore during the "Golden Years" of LSU football (2001-2012).

I have been hoping for years now that LSU would get back to these jerseys! Thank goodness they did.....i did not like the long shoulder stripe!

As an unbiased fan, but fan of the unis, I think they should have split the difference. The stripes should meet the sleeves. Not shorter or longer. I didn't really care for the long stripes that just went vertical, but they almost seem better than the half stripe.

purple pants look fantastic, and we wear them in spring practice. Would like to see them in a game with white jerseys.

Is it just the shoulder stripes being shortened that we are talking about??. I'd hardly call that "new" uniforms, lol.

Break out some of those 5% tint visors too. Unless the commies at the SEC office won't let us.

The old, all-the-way- around stripes were perfectly fine for fifty or so years, so naturally they need to be changed. shite. frick Nike.

It's symbolism for our head coach hire. Half the circle for half of a head coach.

If that's the case why didn't the shorten them during, the Les Miles era?

Oh, scrolling back up, I noticed the sunscreen - Wasn't it Miles who didn't like/approve those?

What a waste of money on such a slight redesign

It looks really lazy and incomplete to shorten the stripes like that. Stupid and unnecessary change.

There are going back to the original jerseys. The long stripe has only been in use since the Peach Bowl against Clemson in 2012. Also, I highly doubt there were any costs associated with going back to the original jersey. It it uses less material and they order new uniforms every year anyway.
