During Wednesday's episode of "The Triple Option" podcast, former Florida and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer discussed Brian Kelly's postgame rant following LSU's 20-10 win over the Gators.

Meyer explained how he was a big fan of Kelly's response. Per On3:
quote:

“I loved it, I loved it,” Meyer said during Wednesday’s episode. “I mean, I kind of snapped a few times, but he’s saying what every coach probably wants to say. And then everybody’s got to listen to context. He’ll be much different today in his press conference. That was 15 minutes after walking out of the locker room where he’s got a group of players that he spends more time with than his own family and they just found a way to win a big-time ball game. And then you get peppered right away. So, yeah, I love it.

“Was that a bad question? I don’t know that. But sometimes you look and you’re like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ But you’ve just got to take it. And I think it’s great.”

“You know what, give him a little grace and have at ’em, Coach Kelly,” Meyer added. “I thought it was great to stick up (for his team), and move on. It’ll be a much different tone after you decompress after a couple of days.”

Loved how he responded to the question, and loved how he apologized afterward. Nothing more to see here in my opinion.

That reporter reminds me of another reporter by the name of Ken Rosenthal, a 4' 9" a-hole of humanity. They both probably went to the same school and spent a lot of time together.

Kelly said the reporter was spoiled, which is likely true. Kelly is also spoiled from being at Notre Dame because reporters never asked him tough questions there. The best press conferences come when coaches are pissed off at reporters anyway. Saban conferences were pure gold when he was pissed at reporters.

My thoughts exactly. It wasn’t a bad question, just bad timing.
