Hope some other former players offer the same advice. No need to make this an issue that forever ruins the relationship btwn JD and LSU.

It’s just a number get yourself a life. I would be proud if someone else wanted to wear my number……

I love my bro, he’s a solid guy! He calls it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat anything. For the most part, we’ve got some real dogs and dudes who would ride or die for the program, and that makes me proud. Unfortunately, the crybaby has to stir things up and start his nonsense.

Correct let it go, can’t be bigger than the program.

Well said LF7!

I still think of #5 as Skyler Green's number.

Its LSU. Numbers become legend. You share that tradition with great players. Could you imagine if Patrick Peterson felt that way, Matt Mauck felt that way? Pickett is a stud and is honoring you indirectly. Very shameful and disappointing on JDs fault. Went from being a source of pride to being someone who publicly attempted to shame the brand that made him.

Well said LF7. We ALL love JD5 and what he brought to LSU. He is and will always be a LEGEND! But it's a number bro! Whoever wears #5 in the future will be wearing Jayden Daniels' number because of what he accomplished. That in itself is an honor!

Only Cannon has had his number retired in LSU history. Cannon was a true athlete and played both offense and defense in winning the Heisman. Remember the famous Halloween night run where he broke 7 tackles. Could JD been able to do that? Only two players have won a Heisman and a National Championship. JD isn't one of them. Cannon was one and when the time comes Burrow will be the other one. Those are the ones deserving to have their number retired

In the ranking of my favorite Tigers, JD is not in my Top 25 while LF is near the top.

That’s what maturity sounds like.
