FootballScoop.com is reporting that new Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Ruhle could be interested in LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady for the offensive coordinator position on his staff.

Both Rhule and Brady share the same agent (Trace Armstrong), according to the report.
quote:

Sources tell FootballScoop new Carolina head coach Matt Rhule is interested in speaking with LSU’s Joe Brady about the offensive coordinator position with the Panthers.

LSU officials have repeatedly stated throughout the season they expect Brady to return, and had no concerns about him leaving for another college job.

I'm going to ask President Trump to order a drone strike on anyone trying to take Joe Brady away. #KLSUG (Keep LSU Great) ??.

You don’t go from never having been an OC ever to an NFL OC. Ridiculous story

The two head coaches in this title game went from never being coordinators to becoming head coaches, so don’t kid yourself into thinking this is out of the realm of possibility.

They have the same agent and someone’s leaking intel that Rhule “could be” interested..

I know an agent would never do this, but it’s almost like someone’s leaking info to drive the price LSU will have to pay to keep Brady.

Or coach O could just...ask Brady if and what he's been offered.

Just stop with all of these distractions...c'mon, you gonna start with all of this 3 days before the big game?!??!!? At least have the courtesy to wait until Tuesday.

This is the one sucky thing about being great. It's impossible to hold on to all of the assistant coaches. Sooner or later we are going to have to find a way to be great without Aranda and Brady. Hopefully later.

If he leaves, he leaves. It's his career to have and he can take it any direction he chooses. Joe Brady is not the only innovative offensive mind in football. Coach O could go find another good coach in the same manner in which he found Joe Brady. I wish him the best as he goes through his career. I mean, we all hope he stays, but it is foolish to expect him to stay if he has other goals.

Crazy enough we can out pay a NFL OC salary.

Brady is young and has time to really build his OC resume with LSU. He would be jumping too soon from being a 30 year old passing coordinator into a NFL OC - seems too soon to me, but wish him the best no matter what.

Joe Brady knows better than to go with a rookie head coach that was semi successful in the Big 12. Nothing to see here.

I hope you're right. Considering the current climate in the NFL regarding coaching tenure, Ruhle may not last 2 years.

Man! One coach hoping to get some positive traction for his own chances to become a head coach dropped Brady's name out there. Made people talk. That coach still didn't get a HC job. Now, the Ruhle and Brady have the same agent and a story drops that a first time HC is gonna hire a guy that's never been an OC before. It couldn't be an agent trying to drum up cash for his client Brady could it? No. Of course not. SMH

This is very bad. Woodward should have signed him months ago and if LSU loses him this is on him. David Tepper is the richest owner in the NFL. He just paid an unproven college coach almost 8 million a year for 7 years. The guy is willing to spend a lot of money. If he wants Brady he will get him.

I will never understand why Woodward didnt sign him to a deal three months ago when we all knew where this was going.

Am I crazy to think that, even if he goes, Coach E has the playbook and can call the same plays?
user avatar
Gumbo176 months
You are a little crazy. I don't think coach E would be able to call the plays with as much success as show Brady. That's my opinion anyway.
user avatar
Mouche33776 months
Coach is calls the plays now! It was Brady and E that put the system together, but E calls the plays on gameday. That was stated earlier in the season.

News Flash: Hell! Even a fool (Jerry Jones) would be interested in Joe Brady.

Who isn't interested in him?
