Multiple sources report that Brian Kelly is hiring Slade Nagel as LSU's new tight ends coach.
Nagel, a native of Lake Charles, La., has spent the past eight seasons at Tulane. He was the tight end coach for the Green Wave from 2016–2022 and was promoted to Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks this past season.
He served as interim head coach during Tulane's Bowl Game in December when Willie Fritz took the Houston job.
Nagel also has special teams experience as he was an administrative assistant working with the special teams at LSU in 2009 and coached running backs and special teams at McNeese State from 2012-2015.
Nagel was an all-state quarterback during his high school days at Barbe in Lake Charles and committed to Clemson but transferred back to his hometown to finish his college career at McNeese.
