LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron spoke with Syracuse.com on Monday and said that he would be very interested in the opening at Syracuse, now that Scott Shafer will be dismissed at the end of the season.

Orgeron was the defensive line coach at Syracuse from 1995-97.
quote:

"I have a lot of respect for Syracuse. Great private school, great education, great tradition. So, obviously, my interest would be very high. I'd be highly interested in getting that job. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity to go back there."

He is a shining star for us right now. Let this man stay some way and get promoted. Get ride of Steele.

Hell, maybe he's getting a little leverage to get a bigger offer here. Let's hope he stays...

He was a die hard LSU guy when he was hired less than a year ago. Now what coach O is saying "the ship is sinking let me save myself by telling other teams I'm interested"

Honestly, if he is let go then Alleva must go as well. He is a guy that will help rebuild once LM is out.

Coach O must be pretty certain LSU will have a new HC soon. This would mean that his own coaching position might be given to someone else - depending on the HC's preferences. Now. if Miles stays and Coach O takes a HC position, I cannot find fault with that. But some may accuse him of bouncing too quickly from place to place - yet this is the nature of CF today. In any case, LSU likely loses recruits - more if Coach O leaves.
