New LSU head coach Ed Orgeron will reportedly target Alabama offensive coordinator and longtime friend Lane Kiffin to join his staff in Baton Rouge.

Orgeron worked under Kiffin at Tennessee in 2009 and at USC from 2010 to 2013. Kiffin's contract with Alabama expires after this season.

When asked about Kiffin during his introductory press conference, Orgeron said he is "going to get the best coordinator in football."

The OC for Memphis (the way they came back passing within seconds against Houston) would be a good interview.

I think it will be rather telling if we go into the new year without hiring an OC. That is assuming Alabama handles business in the pre-qualifier and goes to the championship.

how good would Bama be this season without Kiffin?
If O can snag Kiffin, Alleva will look like a genius....

They would be fine. If he leaves and Sarkisian is becomes OC, you think Bama would skip a beat? I don't.

Good luck keeping Sarkisian off the booze.

If Kiffin accepts the gig, can we get him to bring both of the Alabama Offensive Line Coaches with him. (Brent Key- Guards/Centers and Mario Cristobal-Tackles/Tight Ends)
Don't need a dedicated TE Coach. Ensminger can go to Admins to make room.

And if Kiffin stays at Alabama, who's next? Got a back up plan?

When you put to start your name you have zero credibility for anything other than gun confiscation. Piss off

He's making a good point. What if Bama signs Kiffen to an extension? Especially now that it is publicly known that we are targeting him? We can't put all our eggs in one basket. We should be looking at at least 2 additional guys. But Kiffen should definitely be at the top of the list.
