Thanks all you have done for LSU. I knew this was coming sooner than later. Best of Luck. Thanks for waiting until after the NCG.

We knew he would leave at some point: 1) we got it done and got a natty 2) Baylor is a very respectable job to lose him to

Great facilities, and quality school. Hate to see him go, but he would walk into a good foundation left for him.

Personally, in my opinion, I don't believe Dave Aranda is cut out to be a good head coach, as opposed to a DC. As he is a very analytical dude but at the same time, he lacks the people skills necessary to be a good head coach. Nonetheless, if he gets the job, more power to him.

In the book "Good to great', Jim Collins talks about different types of leaders. Usually, the companies led by loud and self aggrandizing leaders have fizzled, even if they shined bright briefly. He talks about servant leaders who are thoughtful and give others credit, who succeed and their companies display sustained success. Introverted and quiet does not mean meek and timid. If Aranda gets the job, hope he learns from O's initial mistakes and has a smoother transition as a HC.

Good for Dave. I wish him nothing but the best. I love Baylor but it is not an easy place to win. Dave has been a fabulous Tiger!!!

Aranda outdid Venables. Brent Venables has the rep as a wiz at defense. However, he lost to LSU in two championship games. Aranda's reputation as a defensive wiz has taken a dip recently. If the offensive philosophy continues and team shows similar success over the next few years, he will play second fiddle to offense. Perhaps, it is time for Aranda to use this NC window and strike while the iron is hot.

Sounds like he’s agreed to retain the current DC.
