NFL reporter Jeff Darlington was on ESPN's 'Get Up' Thursday morning and said that the Cincinnati Bengals 'were blown away' by LSU quarterback Joe Burrow after meeting with him this week. Per Geaux247:
quote:

"That was never being brought up in the meeting, the idea of whether he would play if he was drafted No. 1," Darlington said. "What did certainly come up was football. And I can tell you that from speaking with a person in that meeting, they were blown away by Joe Burrow. He said that he was like 'a 10-year vet.' That he 'exceptional'.

"I think after hearing the way this meeting went down, we should absolutely expect Joe Burrow to wind up No. 1 with the Cincinnati Bengals. And both sides seem very clear, despite maybe some of the rumblings that existed in the past few weeks, that if he were drafted No. 1, he would be playing for the Bengals."
Burrow won't be working out or throwing at the Combine this week but will showcase his skills at LSU's Pro Day on April 3.

As an LSU and Steelers fan I wish him nothing but the best. Hopefully the Bengals can finally turn things around as a franchise. Joe is a complete class act.

If they love him, they should set him free. If he comes back, they were... fooled, and, uh, well, you can't get fooled again.

Duh, that was hard to figure out. No wonder they have had a bad team the last few years.

Cincy is a great landing spot for him. They have some good players, just struggled the last couple of years at QB as Dalton regressed.

Playing for Cincy would allow his parents to take a drive of only three hours from their home to see him play a home game for the Bengals. Not too shabby.

They’ll likely move down this way closer to Cincy. Area is up and coming
