John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
During his weekly press conference on Monday morning, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said that No. 19. Auburn (8-3) this weekend will be the "best team we've played, probably, so far this year."

Which is an interesting comment considering the Tide lost to No. 1 LSU (11-0) a few weeks ago in Tuscaloosa...

They were the best team we played this year too

I agree on that. Auburn was definitely the best team LSU has played all year up to date.

That's OK Nicky. Auburn was probably the best team we played all year.

He's trying to build up Auburnt- he wants to push all the right buttons so that if they win, 'his' reasoning why they should be in the playoff picture...

You know what? Les Miles just spoiled Little Nicky for all those years and he just don't know how to act when Coach O went in Alabama and put his foot square into Saban's ass. And also the loss to LSU really, really hurt because it basically knocked them out of the playoffs and on top of that LSU looks like they will dethrone Bama as recruiting Kings of the SEC at least for this year.

I would like to thumbs up this twice please

Part of his campaigning to be in the playoffs , should they win.

Roll tide what? frick you!

You are so right. Saban is trying a comeback on Coach O based on O’s infamous statement: Roll Tide - FU ??

And for the simple fact that LSU beat both Auburn and Alabama. Weird flex, Saban.

Both of them will be sitting at home watching the better team in the SEC Championship!

Saban is probably praying that the playoff committee believes this too. AU game is bamas last hope to get a mulligan.

Interesting. I know that Bama is not the best team that Auburn will face this year.

Looks like Auburn will win going away then.

Even Saban is trying to forget about the ass-whoopin LSU put on them a couple weeks ago.

I hope he’s right!!!

Me too, ditto to that. hope he is right to where bama can not get it going on auburn offensively. Hope a miracle comes alive for Auburn's offense like what I saw vs this past weekend

I understand the backlash that Saban is getting here and in my strong opinion he should have said “Auburn is the best DEFENSE Bama will play” because that is accurate. But obviously LSU is the best team we have played.

Nick, I know you are an intelligent guy and say things to pump up your team, but that has to be one of dumbest things you have ever said. The LSU Tigers kicked your butt.

He's just complimenting his next opponent but it did come off as a troll.

oops Don't

I wish everyone would relax and wait until after Saturday to get freaked out about Bama making the playoffs. This probably is all a moot point because I’m not looking forward to the Iron Bowl.

Bamagreycoat, Saturday won't get Bama in even if Bama wins vs Auburn. There are other teams out there who will have 1 loss but have a conference title. Bama has an entitlement attitude but doesn't deserve to be in the CFP.

Nick satan is a pos. Yet like the rest of the bama “faithful” he can’t give props to an arse whooping. Enjoy the cotton bowl little Nicky
