Obviously we all want him to do well in the NFL. But he is absolutely not ready. He has difficulty getting separation, lacks consistency, isn't there physically yet, etc. He also probably cost himself millions of dollars coming out this year. Overall, just a horrible decision.

I wish Dupre would have returned obviously. However, I feel we have receivers who can easily match or exceed his production. I also feel based on his size and ability, he should be a good fit in the NFL, given the passing offenses that dominate the league now. Best of luck Malachi! Always a Tiger!

Should stay for another year

Always liked Malachi but he'd be so much better served with another year of college under his belt. Plays "small" not dominant but has the tools to be. Best of luck though.

"Malachi Dupre is a size receiver who’s listed at 6’4” and plays to that height. He has strong hands and long arms which help him attack the ball at its highest point. Dupre has proven to be a big-play threat and someone who can make plays down the field."

#1 ESPN, Dupre, a premier Slot or outside WR, excellent blocker, great hands, practiced 2 yrs with the Saints in HS and set the 2014 SPARQ record with his 43.5" Vertical. With only 98 catches, Dupre had more Yards, YPC, & TDs (14) as a FR (5) & Soph (6) than either Beckham or Landry & leaves with 14 TDs, 2 more than Beckham, 1 less than Landry. He did that with 40% less catches. Dupre & Harris connected on 10 of his 14 TDs & 3 of his 5 100 yd games & Dupre was #3 in the nation w/23 YPC as a FR. But like Dural they both had drastically declining roles & stats in 2016's less explosive OFF. No Analyst is going to miss the mitigating factors he faced & penalize either him or Dural for playing in an Off that absurdly ranked 120th, 119th, & 116th in pass ATTs which makes absolutely no sense since Pass Plays were more productive than Rushing...Even W/O Shotgun/Tempo/Spread in Miles/Cam's 1-2WR 2TE/FB sets Dupre was forced to beat double coverage on long isolation routes. LSU ranked last in Pace of Play & Plays/Game, 1/2 of CLEM/ALA, except when they turned FR Harris/Dupre loose in a shotgun spread/HUNH for 2 min vs MSST & spread vs NMST. Compared to Clemson's Sr. Mike Williams who had Tempo & Space, Harris/Dupre & all the QBs/WRs were hamstrung w/6 transferring out. Dupre made unbelivable leaping highpoint & 1-handed catches, even w/intentional facemask & PI & his Combine should shoot him up the charts. 28 Pt 2nd Qtr FLA Highlights: Early fumble by LF gave FLA easy 7-0 lead, then 9 yd TD, 52 yd flea flicker, 3rd&9 50 yd TD with 27 secs & 4 DL chasing grabbing Harris, 3 DBs covering Dupre for a 28-14 halftime lead. I wish him the best. I think another year, especially with the more balanced scheme that Canada will implement, would have boosted his draft stock up. He'll go mid 3 to early 4th. Who ever drafts him will be getting a steal tho! Because the talent is there. Miles and Cam just didn't utilize it.

6th rounder at best, thats giving him the best possible option

Guess you didn't witness all of his drops? They tried to utilize him...

9th Green At 9: Yeah, I saw the drops. Terrell Owens had drop issues early too. So did Dez Bryant. His next WR coach will fix that. He doesn't even have to have a great WR coach. Just a decent one. His talent and potential will be too much for GMs to ignore. 1st rounder, no. 2nd rounder, not likely, 3rd rounder, possibly. 4th rounder, if he's still available, will be a steal! His mental errors will be fixed in year one and he will be a coverage nightmare by year two. Believe that!

As well as he may have played in the Canada system I feel we as a "Team" will play better without him. Kinda saw him as a me guy and not as tough as we need in SEC play.

His ceiling is boundless, but I think he'll be a late round draft. In fact, I'll bet anyone that he will be 4th round or later. He's under-developed. This is a poor decision. But, he's an LSU guy so I wish him well. Godspeed, Malachi.

Love the disparity between "he's gonna be a stud" to "5th or 6th rounder." The reality is right now he has a low 2nd round grade. That sounds nice and all, but the money's in the first. Without a first round grade or major financial/grade concerns, he should come back to get into the first. NFL rookie contracts are all about the first. If he goes in the 2nd or 3rd, he'll make money, but not close to the first. And if he even makes a team, he'll be "saddled" with that deal for 4 yrs.

Congrats to Dupre. He has been a great Tiger. I, too, believe he could use another year like Collins, Beckwith and White used to become much better picks but I don't know his situation. Good luck Malachi and fly that LSU flag on Sundays!!!

He should check out Odell's 4 yr salary vs Jarvis'. If you have potential to go round 1 it's financially smarter to get paid more for your first contract rather than bank on getting to that second one faster

"Malachi Dupre's NFL Stock is continuing to rise- 1st-2nd Rd, 3rd-7th WR." "Dupre is able to out-leap most defenders and attack the ball at its highest point. has good hands, and is a threat on all levels. His size, catch radius, b-jump, and vertical should impress. I would expect him to be 1st rd worthy on talent alone." "His talent went to waste at LSU in a run heavy offense. It's better to judge Dupre by what he does when he actually gets the ball thrown his way, which is convert. The 6'4”, 195-pound junior has 98 receptions and 14 of those have gone for touchdowns, including six of 43 in 2015." "He has strong hands and long arms which help him attack the ball at its highest point. Dupre has proven to be a big-play threat and someone who can make plays down the field. His strong hands also pop when he’s working the underneath routes. Dupre is able to adjust his body and pluck the ball away from his frame. This allows him to make those tough catches in traffic." "Dupre proved he could explode past his man when getting to the back of the end zone to catch a fade. The junior also impressed with his blocking, helping running back Derrius Guice twice on touchdown runs. This is the sort of effort that will help Dupre make an impact in the NFL." atltiger6487 said "He's done nothing to show he's even the best receiver on our roster." Okay. He was only THE top WR for 3 yrs. 11 of his 14 TDs came in his 1st 2 years, 10 from Harris. That was 2 more than the 9 Beckham & Landry had combined their 1st 2 yrs and 2 more than Beckham's 12 in 3 yrs. Before you take issue with Dupre or the quotes from Draft Analysts, you might want to blame the Coaching & Unimaginative Offensive Scheme for ranking 120th in Pass ATTs and 123rd in Plays/Game/Tempo & Spread. 6 WRs transferred, including 5* Tyron Johnson and we were less productive on Offense in 2016 than 2015, scoring 5 pts less per game. His #1 ESPN Talent was underutilized & wasted, as was #2 DTQB Brandon Harris. They were both top talents recruited to all the Top schools with modern offenses but came to LSU because, like Tyron they were promised an up-tempo, spread offense. FYI every other #1 WR recruit has been a top draft pick - 1st-2nd round.
