Overweight and on a bum ankle he clocked in at 22.9 mph on a run vs ole miss this year. Faster than anyone recorded with the ball in the NFL the past 2 years

Next fastest time was Xavier Rhodes (CB) at 22.4 on a pic six for the Vikings.

I know it was on sports science but I just don't believe that. OBJ had a few long runs that burned everyone. And not just OBJ but other super fast guys taking kickoffs and punts back for TDs, no way Fournette was faster than all of them

Yeah I tend to agree. But I will say i believe it was just one specific moment in his run, coming out of that burst/cut upfield. His full stride to the endzone wasn't holding near that. That burst was nasty... I could see that moment being as fast as player has moved recently.

He just can't help putting on muscle. In the end he probably could have been just as good of a linebacker

He's very tall for a RB. As long as he is in shape he should even more impressive at 240 with his frame.

ploy to get drafted to a good team. the money is all in the second contract so why risk going to a crappy team. it's better to fall into the second half of the first round.

Although technically logical... Just no....

has anyone considered LF may be sabotaging his draft position he doesn't go to one of the early crappy teams?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this.

Maybe he's bulking up to play linebacker instead. Lol You know LF7 can play anywhere and be successful! He's a beast!

I can easily fluctuate 5 lbs from one day to the next, not a big deal IMO I'm sure it's muscle

If he sits around a 4.4, the weight won't mean anything.
user avatar

If he runs a 4.4 at 240 lbs, his stock will rise if anything.
user avatar
CaliTigerHB86 months
He runs a 4.4 at 240 he might go number 1 overall

well, pretty sure my previous comments are now justified. 4.51 is not fast for a RB. So now he is just really big, and fast(for his size),,,, not just fast. He should have been at 225. Not 240. Again, to me, this shows a lack of maturity.

IMO this is a good thing, especially after he proves to be the fastest back in the draft as well.

I'm very surprised at this. He definitely fluctuated between 225-240 at LSU. He was his best when he was lean. I can't imagine showing heavy part of the plan for he and his agent.

question is, did it look like he had that gut he had when he was hurt last year? And second, is he still too banged up to run his best 40 time?

Agreed. Won't be a big deal if he runs fast. If he's slower than expected then who knows.
