If he sits around a 4.4, the weight won't mean anything.

If he runs a 4.4 at 240 lbs, his stock will rise if anything.

He runs a 4.4 at 240 he might go number 1 overall

BMI 31.7 = obese.

BMI is irrelevant for athletes. Bodyfat is what is measured.

BMI has no real practical meaning or application.

I know. That's kind of my point.

question is, did it look like he had that gut he had when he was hurt last year? And second, is he still too banged up to run his best 40 time?

Agreed. Won't be a big deal if he runs fast. If he's slower than expected then who knows.

ploy to get drafted to a good team. the money is all in the second contract so why risk going to a crappy team. it's better to fall into the second half of the first round.

Although technically logical... Just no....

I'm very surprised at this. He definitely fluctuated between 225-240 at LSU. He was his best when he was lean. I can't imagine showing heavy part of the plan for he and his agent.

He just can't help putting on muscle. In the end he probably could have been just as good of a linebacker

That's not good. He needs to be at or under 230..no higher.

Considering he played at 235 most of his career at LSU, and the 5 pounds is likely all water weight, he'll be just fine and blow people away when he does the 40 and shuttle.

Leonard will lose 3-5 lbs before he runs 4.47 40. Will destroy teams secondary

Meh... That's one good BM away from being 235.

Overweight and on a bum ankle he clocked in at 22.9 mph on a run vs ole miss this year. Faster than anyone recorded with the ball in the NFL the past 2 years

Next fastest time was Xavier Rhodes (CB) at 22.4 on a pic six for the Vikings.

I know it was on sports science but I just don't believe that. OBJ had a few long runs that burned everyone. And not just OBJ but other super fast guys taking kickoffs and punts back for TDs, no way Fournette was faster than all of them
user avatar
Lsuchs111 months
Yeah I tend to agree. But I will say i believe it was just one specific moment in his run, coming out of that burst/cut upfield. His full stride to the endzone wasn't holding near that. That burst was nasty... I could see that moment being as fast as player has moved recently.

I can easily fluctuate 5 lbs from one day to the next, not a big deal IMO

I'm sure it's muscle
