LSU vs. Alabama In Jeopardy As Tigers Deal With Covid Outbreak

UPDATE: LSU-Alabama has been postponed.

The LSU-Alabama game on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium could be in jeopardy as the Tigers are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.

Head coach Ed Orgeron confirmed Monday that LSU is dealing with an outbreak and could have several players out on Saturday. He did not specify who or how many players could miss the game but suggested it includes potential starters.

Brody Miller with The Athletic reports that LSU only has one quarterback, freshman TJ Finley, available to play on Saturday and no tight ends or a long-snapper. Orgeron would not comment Monday when asked if Finley or Max Johnson were available vs. Alabama.

Another report from Ross Dellenger with Sports Illustrated says that the outbreak stems from a Halloween party last weekend.

Discussions between the schools and the SEC on whether to play Saturday's game have already begun, according to several sources.

If the game is not played on Saturday it will likely be canceled since LSU's only other open date (Dec. 12) is already filled with Florida.
