LSU hired Southern Cal running backs coach Tommie Robinson and Louisiana Tech running backs coach Mickey Joseph on Tuesday to replace Dameyune Craig and Jabbar Juluke.

Robinson will serve as LSU’s running backs coach as well as holding the title of assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator.

Joseph will serve as LSU’s wide receivers coach. Per LSUSports.net:

Robinson, who was recently named the Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year, comes to LSU after spending the 2016 season at Southern Cal as the running backs coach and run game coordinator for Rose Bowl Champion Trojans. Robinson will serve as LSU’s running backs coach as well as holding the title of assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator.

Joseph, a native of New Orleans, joins the LSU staff after one year at Louisiana Tech where he coached running backs for the Bulldogs. Joseph will serve as LSU’s wide receivers coach.

“We are very excited to bring on board two outstanding coaches in Tommie Robinson and Mickey Joseph,” Orgeron said. “Mickey is well-known in our state and he has strong ties to New Orleans. He’s an outstanding coach with a great deal of experience on the offensive side of the ball. He’s an outstanding recruiter with a great work ethic and will be a tremendous addition to the staff.

LSU did not desegregate until 1970! LMAO! Talk about pathetic trailer trash! No wonder all the black athletes in Louisiana are boycotting the place. Saban's recruiting team is going to have a field day everywhere along the Gulf and the Delta for as long as Orgeron is coach.

Jaluke was not getting it done and neither was Craig. Go hang on their nuts you dumbass but Orgeron and Canada have their careers on the line and deserve the best staff they can get. They improved it whether you liked it or not. Go back to playing with Jaluke's nuts now moron.

I read Robinson was National recruiter of the year and Joseph is an excellent recruiter in the New Orleans area. If true, exactly what we needed to lock down the state! Don't know if they can coach (I'm sure they can), but I think recruiting the top players in our state has become a Major priority, and Coach O is making a statement to that effect! I welcome both coaches to Baton Rouge! Let's go get some Championships!

I am still waiting to see what we do about a WR coach. But a lot problems with the WR is them having the self discipline to train in the offseason on their own. That goes for the QB's also.

Mickey is the WR coach

He (Mickey) is a hire that you would term as 'necessary', and has absolutely nothing to do with coaching ability. Any further explanation and people would start throwing the racist card!!!

Mickey is a necessary hire for recruiting I agree.

Pardon me cuz I'm not familiar with Mickey Joseph. Is he mainly a recruiter hire? Why do we hire a former RB coach to coach WR?

Mickey Joseph has a lot of street cred especially in New Orleans in particular , NOLA West Bank where he was QB for Shaw in the mid 1980's and then went on to play at Nebraska. Brother of Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos new head coach Excellent hire ....very good. Blunts the whole Dameyune/Juluke thing with the West Bank NOLA schools
