Multiple sources are reporting that LSU starting defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin is opting out of the upcoming football season. The redshirt junior from Lafayette, La is eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Shelvin is the fourth LSU player to opt-out joining defensive lineman Neil Farrell, defensive back Kary Vincent, and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

Revoke their opt out scholarships and send them a tuition bill for the year plus any other athletic items they received from the school

Opting out to go in the 5th or 6th round of the draft. Nice decision.

Could have actually seen Farrell have a bigger season in the new 4-3 defense. Having him back next year will be huge.

Don't blame this on that pussy virus GTFO. Chase is NFL ready Shelvin IMO needed another year.

Short term memory. It doesn’t fit their narrative that they are being fed by idiots...

I like Shelvin but I have already opted out as well due to the spineless cowards running the LSU Athletic department. Support the Marxist and may your programs burn down.

Lol why does each side call the other sides the radical of each ideology. Marxists or fascists, no in between. Even better question, why is Tyler Shelvin a Marxist? I think you need to introduce something besides Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh into your brain diet bud.

Tiger4life5803 1) Black Lives Matter was founded by trained marxists. They said as much. 2) The reason for the marches recently were because of Jacob Blake, who by all accounts was a piece of shite rapist who was fighting the cops and had a knife on him. Why I’m the frick would you march for that? It’s not about police brutality. It’s about accountability. They don’t want to face consequences for their actions. Simple as that. With that being said, who the frick knows if this has anything to do with Shelvin sitting out. I’m just saying the whole narrative about BLM is horse shite.

Damn! I love the "next man up" philosophy, but at some point, the next man up is a walk-on or different position player. Best wishes to the big man, but I really wanted to see him wreck shite this year.
