Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE -- Though LSU overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit, Mississippi State senior quarterback K.J. Costello led the Bulldogs to the game's final 10 points to earn the victory, 44-34, on Saturday at Tiger Stadium.

Trailing 34-24 early in the fourth quarter, LSU's defense forced turnovers on consecutive possessions - an interception by freshman cornerback Elias Ricks and a strip-sack by senior linebacker JaCoby Stevens - to quickly get back in the game. The Tigers responded with a 33-yard touchdown reception by Terrace Marshall Jr. and a 40-yard Cade York field goal to tie the game at 34-34 with 9:37 to play.

Not only with the draft, the opt-outs and the transfers we had to play Mississippi St. without DT Glen Logan and CB Derek Stingley Jr. that's just too much to overcome.

I still love LSU. We will be back next year. We mite as well take our tail kickin this year. Cause it's about to get worse.

LSU is real champion.?? But this year is going to be a long one. I get the feeling the defense will help someone's heismen campaign every week. They are too young.

LSU is done for the year. Orgeron is out. His judgement is horrific.

Wasn’t he just awarded coach of the year a few months ago? It was one game. Relax.

Look, I had high expectations for this season and I truly shouldn’t have after all the starters left. I’m fine with 2-8 only if we beat bama and Florida. Or 1-9 for miracle in the bayou win against bama at home. I would be contempt with that. I believe that’s more realistic than 5-5 at this present moment.

Wow, 5-5 team at BEST.

I owe Aranda an apology....Pelini was a joke. If you can't play man to man, how about a zone occasionally? Try different stunts and blitzes off the corners without starting your corners 20 yds from the line of scrimmage. Pelini and the "defense" was straight up dog shite today.

What happened? Is Ms st. that much better than anything LSU faced last year? No defense, no offense against them; only luck worked for LSU. Brennan when he got into games last season, seemed decisive and competent; today's qb didn't resemble him.

Pelini needs to be fired tonight. Brennan has no business being on this team, let alone a starter. O needs to make changes ASAP.

Agreed, face the facts Peter parish and tons of other starts opted out because they knew it was no chance to win Brennan throwing the ball. Kids soft man. Pocket presence is horrible, no athleticism at all, can’t scramble to save his life. Seems like he scrambles directly into the arms of the defense. Kid has a little arm but not enough to keep up with college level Qb talent. Simple as that. Parish was better really wish he would have shaved his head like Russel and then maybe we could se the vision but it’s all the coaches fault man this is the worst LSU team in the 20th venture and that facts.

This team fricking sucks. Offensive line stinks, Brennan plays like a puss and can’t read the field, and Pelini’s defense is laughable bad. Should just make Brady the head coach in a couple years

I’m glad someone can man up and be honest. Brennan is worse that etling. And I believed etling to be the Pu$$iest qb to ever suit up for LSU.

Coach O said that Esminger has the same offense as last year. Yet there were no RPO’s and we ran the ball up the middle when we were inside the 10. It wasn’t the defense that lost that game. It was a total team effort to lose that game.

No rpo because Brennan can’t run.

Haven’t had time to get Brennan comfortable with RPOs. Took Joe a long time to get comfrfoable. I think they thought they could skate the first 2 weeks.

RPO has nothing to with the Qb being able to run. RPO= handoff or pass
