LSU head coach Ed Orgeron announced Thursday morning that wide receiver coach Dameyune Craig has been relieved of his duties and running back coach Jabbar Juluke has been re-assigned to a position within athletic department. Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

“We appreciate the work that Dameyune and Jabbar did for LSU,” Orgeron said. “We wish them nothing but success in the future.”

Orgeron said he will begin an immediate search to find replacements for Juluke and Craig.
Craig left Auburn's staff to become LSU's wide receiver coach last February. He was promoted to recruiting coordinator when Orgeron took over has interim head coach.

A report surfaced during LSU's bowl game on New Year's Eve that Oregon head coach Willie Taggart was pursuing Craig to join his staff.

Juluke was hired last February to replace former LSU running back coach and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson. Prior to LSU, Juluke spent three years as running backs coach at Louisiana Tech after a brief stint at Texas Tech.

That's what it seems like LSUrme. Don't know what LTM is talking about.

I think this is a combination of things. 1.) Recruiting/Especially recruiting Louisiana 2.) Canada/O wanting to bring in some of their own.

One thing positive that I can say about O, is that he wants people who will work their arse off alongside him. I admit I didn't like the hire, but I'll give O credit where due. And I'll give him credit for working his arse off. I'm not sure how he'll end up as HC (hopefully great), but I do know 1 thing, no other head coach will work harder than O. And besides Jenkins, if you're not working your butt off beside him and adding value either recruiting/coaching, it seems you'll get your butt fired.

Probably in the works for a while. O just waited until after NSD

Usually pre-planned coaching changes don't happen until after NSD.

This had to be planned by O before signing day. Smart to keep it together for the sake of this year's class. Hopefully no animosity, just different philosophies. Never understood why a former QB is coaching receivers. Well, go get the best to replace them O, and let's keep this train rolling! Good luck to Craig and Juluke!

Definitely these issues stemmed from what happened during the recruiting process. Coach O knows what it takes to get the best recruits and will always hold his staff to those standards. Coach O sayes he hates Fukin BBQ...

Losing ETA and not missing on WR targets to out of state schools is unacceptable.

Damn O ain't playing around fellas. I think you can attribute this to recruiting. Both Craig and Juluke failed to gain elite commitments for each position this cycle. We missed out on Akers and Smith and Ausbon flipped somewhat late so I don't know. I can see why they were shown the door but damn O really isn't playing around.

Craig flipped Netherly who is a top 4 star and most likely is going to start this season since they announced he'd be playing this summer with the team. He also brought in Racey who most feel is a high 4 star but never went to any of the camps to boost his national ranking. Nothing but high praise on him from outside the LSU campus. Both of those were all Craig himself and we were in dire need at WR as we were on the DL. He was also here for QB development having been with both winston and cam newton and he did a very good job with Danny. He had strong ties in bama and New Orleans. His release makes zero sense. Juluke also makes no sense considering he pulled in the surprise fullback that was a big need. Also next years class absolutely must pull in a top RB recruit and Juluke is from the Nola area; but there's been no 4 star or higher in LA this year or next season. Maybe that's why on him cause he hasn't shown any out of state range.

Both seem to go from the "pent" house to the "shite" house very quickly. You dont fire a second year coach because they didnt get recruits in a "thin" recruiting cycle among running backs cycle in LA. Craig firing Im confused?

I don't get the feeling it had anything to do with players they did not get, it was more about getting the new OC some guys that know his system... some thing other than I- Right and I- Left

New OC gonna come with changes, is anybody surprised?

This is just Canada wanting some say on the offensive staff. Sure it was agreed to when he was hired that he could pick his guys. Just waited until NSD which is common too.

this whole shite strikes me as damn odd...everything that I was hearing was that these two guys were doing a good job.

All that I heard was that these two were a couple of badass up and comers. I wish them success at an ACC school that never plays LSU.

Another horrible move. Got rid of Del as soon as he took head coach. He was LSU's #1 recruiter and the #4 ranked in the nation over the last 10 years. We brought Craig in and made him WR coach but his main focus was QB development. He did a very good and noticeable job with Danny. And both these guys were strong recruiters. Del was picked up by ole miss within 2 days and the two DL guys we needed badly flipped to Bama the same week. We lost 6 out of the top 10 in state guys which Miles never did his whole time at LSU and now we let go two of the top young guys at their positions with not even anyone waiting in line for the spot. My first though was Canada had his own guys he wanted in place but that doesn't seem to be it. Craig was the guy who flipped the surprise WR in this class who'll be playing to start this season also. Hard to make sense of it all.

How did OL Miss fair in recruiting this year with Del?

How can a signed recruit decommit.
user avatar
Whynotme87 months
If you tricked a player into committing by promising him something that you no was a lie and it can be proven i.e. having a witness to the lie per stature of ncaa rules a kid can sign a petition to be released from a school based upon FRAUD!
