Given Burrow's pedigree I think it will be difficult for any QB at LSU to beat him out. Looks like LSU will attempt being a more pass oriented offense this year and that requires QB's to be more adept at reading defenses and coverages. With only one season at LSU it does surprise me that Narcisse has decided to transfer so early in his second season while learning a new offense under SE. The fact there are two QB's ahead of him that are better passers means he won't see the field much. So, I can understand a coach wanting to use him as a change-of-pace QB. It gets him on the field and gives the opposing defense something more to prepare for. LSU did the same thing with SE and David Woodley. Woodley was more athletic and was used to run the ball more and run bootlegs and sprint out passes. I don't believe the coaching staff was trying to undermine Narcisse's desire to play QB, rather wanting to utilize his abilities while he develops into a better passer. LSU has done this with other QB duos. The offense under Matt Mauck in 2001 was more run oriented than when Rohan was in the game. LSU ran plays Mauck was better suited for until he developed into a better passer. He was one of the main reason's LSU beat Tenn in the 2001 SEC Championship game. It's a shame a player reacts like this to coaches literally devising plays that suit him best at this point just to get him on the field and utilize his abilities. Esp after one full season and a few weeks of training camp. It's best not to have players on the team with this type mentality. If every player was like this, my god, you'd never have time to develop players. 1st and 2nd year linemen would be leaving, linebackers leaving, db's leaving, rb's leaving etc. Hell, Nick Brousette has been their for how many years? He's just now getting a chance to see significant plying time. Blackwell was just stating the obvious. It doesn't look good when a player doesn't have the patience to learn and develop until they are ready to start. I believe this decision to transfer has a lot more to do with things not related to football than it does football. The fact is, he isn't good enough to beat out at least 2 other QB's at this time. If every player had this attitude and didn't want to spend the time developing their abilities, there would be a lot less freshmen and sophomores playing on teams, they'd all be transferring, at least the ones that can't beat out the players ahead of them. It's sad. But, honestly, with Parish coming in next season, Narcisse probably wouldn't have any better chances of seeing the field. I'm sure Parish will love to suit up for LSU and run some option type plays specifically designed to showcase his ability.
