LSU Sports information director Michael Bonnette was in the room on Sunday when Les Miles told the players that he would no longer be their head coach.

Bonnette described the team meeting as very emotional, saying "there wasn't a dry eye in the room."

Coach Miles was awesome for LSU. His unpredictability made LSU a ratings monster for a long time, and that blessed us non-La residents with national tv coverage. Unfortunately and ironically, it became far too predictable and the time came for the torch to be passed. It absolutely sucks how that had to go down, and I hope Miles doesn't hold ill feelings about it. He has been an fantastic ambassador for LSU and the state of Louisiana, and should be recognized as such forever. Thanks again, coach.

Coach Miles is a class act but his time had come. I remember when the "Great" Eddie Robinson, from Grambling State, time came. The Great Bobby Bowden time came. The game changed and passed these men by. I'm not saying that coach Miles was on the same level coaching as these two men but they all have something in common. Great people who were very prideful aka stubborn and the game pass them by. Goodluck Coach Miles and thanks for the 12 years!

Well he could have left on a high note last season but his stubbornness and piss poor coaching resulted in a mid season firing. Im pretty sure he'll be ok with that 10 mil buy out.

I am ashamed of the way this man has been treated.

You mean with the millions he's been paid, the top notch facilities, the money to hire one of the highest paid staffs in the country?

Why can't they make a special ambassador position for him ?

@BobABooey Have some class. Les did well for LSU football but it is his time to go. Don't kick a man while he is down.

Ready for him to go but damn I hope they build a statue for that man, just a super guy... You'll always have a home here Les.

Doubt they'll do that-but I could see them naming a street or a building after him.

That's a shame. I really like the guy. With this and Arnold Palmer it's been a pretty shitty Sunday for my sports.

The world isn't full of sunshines and rainbows, it's real and when you're bad at your job you get fired. I hope one day I can stand at Les's statue outside of Tiger Stadium and tell my son about 07 UF, 07 AU, '10 Bama and the entire '11 season. Tell him that Les was a great man and his years were LSU's golden years, but don't be mistaken the game has passed him by and he is no longer an LSU quality coach.

You all got what you wanted. Let's see if it works out now. Hopefully better than the Mark Richt situation but time will tell I guess.

Don't hire a Saban DC puppet who has no HC experience and we should be good.
