Former LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson was the fourth receiver taken off the board last week during the NFL Draft, being passed on by Las Vegas Raiders who selected Henry Ruggs, the Denver Broncos with Jerry Jeudy, and the Dallas Cowboys who took CeeDee Lamb.

Jefferson was on the Zach Gelb Show this week and said that the four teams that passed on are going to pay. Per SportsRadio610:
quote:

“I mean, yes,” Jefferson said on The Zach Gelb Show. “I felt like I was the best receiver in this draft class, and being the fifth receiver off the board, it kind of was a shocker. But also having that on my shoulder going into this next season with Minnesota, I’m definitely excited to show the world what I have.”

Jefferson showed a lot at LSU. In 2019, he had 111 catches for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns, helping the Tigers to a national championship. He is considered one of the most pro-ready wide receivers in this year’s class.

“Every single person that picked a receiver instead of me are going to pay,” Jefferson said. “I’m going to show them that I am the better receiver than the pick that they had. . . . I’m definitely excited to go into Minnesota and [compete] for [a] Super Bowl.”

half of his games will be played indoors and on turf. Big plus for him...no snow

Is anyone else reading this and thinking about him counting to four against Oklahoma? Four teams passed on him for another wr.

Jefferson an A+ route runner and catcher. He has He didn’t seem that fast at times but a 4.4 in the 40 says different. He has tremendous awareness when the play breaks down.

He, like the best receivers of all time did, only uses top speed when he needs to pull away. That’s why he seemed at times not to be as fast as he is and can be.

Yeah, I'm a fan of JJ but couldn't help but hear the spirit Antonio Brown poking out a bit. Hope that stops right there, here, and now. Just play ball.

From a raw talent standpoint, he was probably the 3rd best of our main 3 WRs in 2019. If he has an advantage it is hard work and smarts. Having said that, he was probably the best all around WR in a loaded WR draft - really only Lamb would have had me considering taking him over Jefferson.

I hope every word he said becomes true. I’d love for him to win a Super Bowl for my Vikings!

Maybe I wouldn't have taken Reagor, but I would pick Ruggs, Lamb, and Jeudy ahead of Jefferson every time.

Add you to the list of those inferior to Jets' intellect.

And you would be wrong every time. Jefferson is a warrior at WR. He has no fear. He, as he said, will prove to be the best WR in that draft. He outperformed each of those WRs drafted above him and against better completion. He led LSU in catches two years in a row. That is not coincidence.

I like Ruggs and Jefferson in no order. I like the others but they need more work than Ruggs and Jefferson. Lamb could not do much for his team when really counted vs LSU and a few other games. Jeudy ah I think he just good in route running and needs more practice on everything else but he is a good receiver. That's about it.

Because having confidence in one's ability and motivation to play well in the NFL is such an awful thing for a Rookie to have, particularly as a WR  Jefferson will do just fine and likely back up everything he said.

Yeah it's never good to have self confidence and faith in one's ability. I'm sure that is why you are so successful in your life and can counsel the record breaking WR from LSU drafted in the first round and about to become a multi-millionaire. He surely needs to follow your blueprint for success since his is not working.
