ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura updated their College Football Playoff and bowl projections on Monday following Week 6 of the college football season.

After LSU's disappointing 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky on Saturday night, both analysts have the Tigers missing the College Football Playoff and heading to Florida for a postseason bowl game.

Schlabach projects LSU to face Wake Forest in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, while Bonagura has the Tigers playing Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa.

No. 22 LSU (4-2, 1-2 SEC) will host No. 16 Mississippi State (4-1, 2-1 SEC) at Tiger Stadium Saturday for an 11 a.m. kickoff on ESPN.

A $50 million roster alone has to get you more than that... not to mention all the other expenses we've had in the past few years.

I said it in June....$50M or not. It takes more than 1 year for a coach to instill his culture on a program. As much as I want them to win it all, talent alone wont get you into the playoff.

Lane has done it at FAU and Ole Miss, but it's taken some time at each stop. The "muh $40 million+instant championship" doesn't work in this league. Will Stein will run into problems. Pete Golding will run into problems. I trust that Lane's long term plan is more sustainable than theirs. A win this Saturday against a good MSU team will help calm some nerves.
