ESPN released a list of the all the best college football traditions for each Top 25 team last week. Can you guess what they picked for LSU?
quote:

9. LSU

There's Garth Brooks' "Callin' Baton Rouge." There's Mike the Tiger. There's so much that goes into an LSU football game, you can't fit it into a confined space. But peak LSU is LSU at night, and the thing that sets it up every time are the words repeated by public-address announcer Dan Borne: "Ladies and gentlemen, the sun has found its home in the western sky, it is now Saturday night in Death Valley!" You know how Star Wars fans go gaga over the opening crawl, with its iconic music and signature typography? Borne's prologue to an LSU night game is the closest thing college football has to that moment. -- Scarborough

Watching the gals dance at the tailgate after they've gotten their drink on for a few hours. And yeah, those four ominous notes...

Being able to finally stretch out in the second half after the stadium is only half full.

I have been to every SEC stadium and many of the "top" venues in the country and even though TS is not what it used to be, it is without question the greatest game day atmosphere in all of sports in the USA. Nothing, anywhere compares to a big game day in Baton Rouge.

This was the best. The entrance was kind of dark and cluttered so they would not see him until he growled.

I have a close friend who was QB at Fla. St. in early 80's. His first time in Tiger Stadium going through the dark tunnel to the field was the most he had ever been scared in his life! He was coming out to the field just as Mike the Tiger growled one of his hair-standing growls. He said he it scared him so badly that he screamed like a girl! His teammates were picking on him relentlessly!

I know the center for FSU's 1992 team and he told me this was by far the most intimidating thing he'd experienced. That and LSU's DL were flat out scary.
