LSU head coach Ed Orgeron spoke to media on Monday at the final stop on the Coaches Caravan at Walk On's in Metairie and provided a few team updates.

One of those updates was on the competition for the starting left guard spot on LSU's offensive line as they look for a replacement for Garrett Brumfield.

Orgeron said that senior Adrian Magee, sophomore Chasen Hines, and freshman Kardell Thomas will compete for the spot.

Chasen Hines is a beast ...good technique and a workman’s attitude when it comes to his desire to be the best .....

Think it will be kardell by mid season if he gets the playbook down but it's nice going in knowing that the guard position is solid. Now if we can just get tackle figured out the line goes from potential liability to potential strength of the team
