LSU freshman wide receiver Koy Moore took to social media on Sunday to talk about an incident that he dealt with over the weekend involving Baton Rouge police officers.

Moore's statement on Twitter said that he was "violated numerous times" by officers on Saturday night who "pulled guns" and assumed that he had a gun and drugs on him.

Head coach Ed Orgeron released a statement Sunday evening saying that he is aware of the situation and that LSU and the Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating the incident.

LSU's statement:

Great to see the LSU Coaches, AD (S. Woodard), and the entire athletic department come to the aid of their players! Koy, or any other player, should have to face this kind of mistreatment and/or profiling. It's also good to hear that the city of Baton Rouge is doing a thorough investigation...

LINK Former LSU player Sam Montgomery being treated like an animal. Yet, he treated his abuser with dignity and respect. This is what Koy is talking about, regardless of his personal experience.

This type of thing happens everywhere. It happens to people that look like Koy, when they are upstanding teachers, preachers, clergy, lawyers, doctors, engineers, judges etc., while they are doing the right things, in the right places. It is similar to the small amount of thugs that vandalize majority owned businesses, just to show unjustified hatred towards people whose hearts and souls they are ignorant about. Ignorance and a lack of communication is always the root of division amongst people. Most of us think, similarly, regardless of our background. What many are unaware of is how some cowards hide behind a badge and use it to exercise their hatred toward other people. That said, 99.9% of our police are loved and respected by all people. Don’t by into the fake news. Regardless of what you look like, most people like Koy love and respect ALL other people. He plays for Louisiana and LSU, not a red or blue state. Love him back and give him the benefit of the doubt.

Where do these kids go to have these types of encounters? Got to say, I've never been in a situation even close to this.

Just read the article... And trying to get to his phone when they're asking where his gun is? My goodness.

You seem to be saying there are places a black man (not a kid) isn't allowed to go? I think he was leaving his apartment. His home. Your comment suggest that the problem is black men being in the wrong place. Everywhere they go this can happen. That is the problem. Unlike men of my color, who are raised with ZERO concern or fear of police, they don't have that luxury. Where did he go? He went to America, to Louisiana, to Baton Rouge, to his home. Where should he go?

Koy “Soy” Moore needs to stop playing the victim and focus on not getting killed by Alabama. What a pathetic team of losers. Always playing the race victim card while getting pampered like princes at the football ops building.

I'm big on wanting to know what happened 5 mins before and 5 mins after... I am not saying Koy is lying or that he was not done wrong. But there seems to always be much more to the story than the initial account of what happened. And I am not saying I do not believe Koy, but in fairness to both sides, I want the entire story... how did he get to the point where he had guns pointed at him? And for the record, I am always pulling for our guys, this is no different... but I have been fooled before and you know the saying, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

whatever ms delusional....baton rouge cops are notorious for acting like juveniles with their guns and badges. i had a roidhead brpd draw on me whike i was waiting in a car parked at the hospital simply because i did not answer him fast enougn. they are a complete disgrace to the legal system and need to be put in check, just like trump who will be going to jail soon now that he no longer has the badge of the oval office to protect his insane moral depravity

Theres two sides to every story. ONce the popo report comes out and we see what the WR actually did or didn't do, then we all can make a much better call on why the Officers acted the way that they. I always say just do what the police officers say to do, and sue later if necessary. Choose life.

If he did something illegal he would have been arrested. If the cops didn’t arrest him even though he did something illegal then the cop should be fired. My guess is he didn’t do anything illegal therefore he wasn’t arrested. Unless “you know” he was driving while black or brown which makes him completely illegal in the state of Louisiana.

The body cameras were on and should be able to verify Mr. Moore’s allegations. If proven false he should face the penalty for lying and creating false statements. Further him and his family should be sued for slander. If proven true the cop(s) should be fired and should have to pay damages to Koy and his family. Simple.

Usually when Police pull guns and ask where guns are they have a very good reason why. I think the truth will come out. I do not think they just targeted this player or person just cause...

I'm assuming you've never experienced this encounter. The code they like to use is "Mistaken Identity" or "You fit the description".. I've had this encounter atleast 3 times in my 30yr old life. All to be falsely claimed.

The code is that it’s reasonable to detain someone who matches the description of a possibly armed suspect and is in the general area. This has been upheld in criminal courts. How can they stop the right person if they don’t try to stop possible suspects? Sounds like you made out okay. What’s the problem?

It wasn’t for nothing. He was driving while black or brown. You could die for that offense alone in Louisiana lol.

So after reading the comments, it appears that you guys support the team and not it’s players. This is embarrassing how you don’t give this kids story one ounce of credibility...why? Because of politics? It literally went from this kid’s story to a long story of election results...like the current POTUS didn’t trot his arse out there after the networks called it for him 4 years ago. This crap has to really stop, and until you guys start to realize that there are cops who have piece of shite views and actions, there are people who do to; and just because this kid is black doesn’t make his claim invalid. What are you really cheering about on Saturday’s if you dislike the people who represent your school? They represent the colors with pride, yet you can’t see pass their color. It’s really sad!

Maybe we want to know more about the situation instead of going off half cocked based on some twitter account where we are getting one side of a story where no one was hurt to begin with. Get your feelings off your sleeve.

Has Murphy scheduled a press conference yet, so he can give us SWB's opinion of this? Also, has a time been set to release the body cam footage?
