Reports surfaced on Monday morning that LSU cornerback Eli Ricks was entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

The former five-star recruit played in six games this season but was ruled out for the season on October 13 because of a lingering injury that required a procedure.

During his Monday press conference, Ed Orgeron said he heard about the reports that Ricks was transferring but had not spoken to him or his mother about the news. He added that he was not sure if the reports were true or not.

LSU is an institution with a national brand that rings in every athletic, professional and job circle. Coaches are vehicles( not institutions) for student/athletes to receive an education and get optimal exposure for an opportunity to play in the WNBA, NBA, NFL and MLB. LSU student athletes that show loyalty to that institution receive lifelong support from all that support the institution. Athlete’s loyalties should be to the institution that give them their opportunities. Those same loyalties should granted to those professional teams that provide opportunities to athletes and those professional institutions reciprocate those loyalties. Loyalty begets loyalty. A lack there of, begets the same.

Who's surprised the meat head coach doesn't have a clue? He hasn't had one during his entire tenure.

Ed hasn’t control since he was fired & made a ‘Lame Duck’. If that bothers you, like it does me you gotta lay all that AD Woody. Should have sent CEO home b4 the Florida game.

Ed O - the man is completely out of touch with the players on this team. Itt was a mistake of collosal proportions by Woodward to believe leaving Ed O in place through the end of the season was better than a clean cut. O has checked out. He's looking forward to collecting his millions, screwing cheap-arse milfs and not having to deal with the immaturity of 18-20 year olds used to being pampered.

All the 'keyboard cowboys' here know all the facts right and rip accordingly. I will say you do provide entertainment, be it 'low level'.

Ricks is a quitter and man of low character. Class demands that if you are going to transfer you tell your coach first. Adios loser.

He doesn’t have a real coach & after this 2021 Disastrous ’shite Show’ of a season I can’t say I blame any players for checking out their options to be as successful as they can be.

This man has run our program into the ground. F you O. And next time you try and say Go tigers you take it and shove cuz you obviously care less about the program if you have no idea when our best players are jumping ship!!

Why would anyone want to stay when they see how our fans treat a coach who won a national championship. Our fans are spoiled and childish.

So how many more years were we supposed to accept what's going on right now before the grace period wears off?
user avatar
CeasarA29136 months
You're correct. We should accept a 5-5 and 5-6 record and players transferring like hot cakes because Ed O won a natty. This is sound logic. I applaud you.

O has made an absolute fool out of himself on and off the field since Brady and burrow won him a championship.

This group is blaming the wrong man. Coach O didn’t hire himself. What was he supposed to do? Turn it down?

This is what happens when you fire your coach mid season. Hard to blame O; he’s got no skin in the game. Woodward is not the messiah. This was a dumb move on his part.
