Even though the Golden Band from Tigerland played fan favorite "Neck" at Mississippi State’s Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville last Saturday, band director Roy King told The Advocate that the song will not be played this weekend in Tiger Stadium.

quote:

“We probably will not play ‘Neck’ this week,” said Roy King, the band’s director.

The LSU Athletic Department banned the band’s rendition of Cameo’s and Dean Franchize Boyz’s “Talkin’ Out Da Side of Ya Neck” in 2010 after the student section replaced the original lyric, “Oh oh talkin’ out the side of your neck,” with a sexually vulgar line. The line not only was heard throughout the stadium but broadcast on nationally televised games.
Here video of the Band playing "Neck" last weekend in Starkville.

And we wonder why the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium has been dwindling the last few years. The band can't play traditional songs that have been played for decades. All we get to hear is pumped in rap music. This is the WORST part of a game at Tiger Stadium.

The players want the song, the fans want the song, so play the fricking song. Oh no, the world might find out we have college students who say curse words. I'm 38 years old and I want the song. I take my kids to the game with me every week. I'm not going to shelter them in a bunker to avoid the big bad student section and all of their poo poo mouths.

As for Tiger Rag, most of the students now don't know the old chant. Therefore it continues to be played.
