LSU running back Derrius Guice put out an Instagram post late Monday Night to talk about his knee injury during this season and said that he does not expect to make a decision on the NFL Draft until after the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.

Guice injured his knee in preseason camp and re-injured the knee vs. Mississippi State on September 16 but says he is 100-percent now.

He finished the season with 1,153 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns despite missing the Troy game and had limited playing time in other games because of the injury.

Many believe the junior from Baton Rouge is expected to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the draft, although Guice says the decision will not come until after the Bowl game. Various NFL Draft analysts predict that Guice will be selected in the first round.

Here is Guice's message on Instagram:

quote:

dhasickestt: This has been my face all year... started in camp when I injured my knee... played throughout most of the pain until some games I couldn’t. Many say they miss the old Guice, I do too. No player wants to be injured or play injured. I did the best I could this year for my team. We have grown so much this year as a football program and will only get better from her. Thanks to my coaches and teammates and loyal tiger fans for uplifting me when I was down and keeping me positive.. this season is not what I expected for myself and I know most didn’t expect it as well so sorry to disappoint! I’m finally 100% thank the lord my decision to leave or stay is still in the air and I will not know until after the bowl game so respect that! Love you all

I love the kid, but no NFL caliber running back should play college ball for more than three years, even if they redshirt. The attrition at the position is just too high, and that clock is ticking even in practice. We'll be good with Clyde. Go get your fortune, kid.

As much as I would selfishly love this guy to come back, I would feel like garbage if he suffered a serious injury next year. Make your fortune, Guice, but dont forget about us.

Even tho i'd like him to stay, he should go to the NFL because of injuries.

Brother, if this season was a disappointment, I missed it. You gave 110% every time out. Always a pleasure to watch and love your lighthearted humor with reporters after games. A true ambassador for LSU! You are a 1st rd. pick and no one expects you to pass that up! I know I speak for all Tiger fans when I say geaux with our blessings and thanks for being a Tiger! Of course, if you decide to come back we certainly won’t hold that against you! God Bless!

Was just about to say the same. If anyone was disappointed watching Guice run the ball at LSU then they didnt understand what they were watching. He ran HARD every single time he touched the ball!! Cant say that about many RBs in College ir the Pros. Good luck DG you will be missed!!!

Will I be upset if Guice goes pro? Absolutely not. Will I be upset if he decides to stay for his senior year? Absolutely not.

Do I sometimes make statements by first asking myself questions that no one else is expecting me to answer, and then answer those questions? ... Whoops, sorry, was that question for me? I must not have been listening to the question. Can I repeat the question please?

This young man has been one of my favorite Tigers of all time and I have seen a lot of them! To DG, Young man, do what you think is best for yourself. We will support whatever decision you make. Would love to see you playing football in any uniform you wear next season. Best of luck!!!

As an Aggie fan, I can't wait to see that little ball of hate in the NFL. Just a straight up beast and I have nothing but respect for him as an opponent.
