After practice on Thursday, LSU coach Brian Kelly was asked about the pros and cons of playing Garrett Nussmeier this week against Southeastern LA and what goes into his thought process of playing him Saturday.
Nussmeier, who has been limited with a torso injury since fall camp, is feeling good and ready to play vs. the Lions, according to Kelly.

"Because he's feeling good," Kelly explained. "We had to limit a lot of things that we did in the first four weeks. He's finally coming to practice feeling good and getting into a good rhythm. This was his best week of practice. So we want him to go and play the game at a level where he's comfortable. To hold him back at this point would not be the right thing for him."
"He's excited to play because he feels so much better. I don't want to say that he's back to the old Garrett Nussmeier. But there were a lot of things that he couldn't do, that he had to adjust to. It's good that he's back and throwing the football comfortably."
