LSU coach Brian Kelly joined the SiriusXM College Sports Chanel this week and shared some of his concerns about how NIL is being handled.

Kelly said that while he's in favor of players being able to build their brands using their name, image, and likeness, there have been some "unintended consequences" with NIL that need to be corrected.

No way LSU or other SEC schools can compete with either UT or TAMU who two of the Worlds largest university endowments

With zero ROI you will see this go away.

You'll see some of it go away, but no way this goes away because of ROI. I mean everyone was dealing money under the table with no ROI before NIL, now they don't even have to hide it and there is no limit on the amount one can give. This isn't going away without the NCAA putting in some kind of measures to control it.

The Conf Commish’s & AD’s @ all the P5 Schools will HAVE to reign in this clusterfuk somehow. As soon as the AD’s figure out that the boosters are no longer interested in Donating Millions (MORE) of their $$ to all of those never ending Athletic Dept Facilities Projects because their CONSTANTLY inundated w/NIL requests from Dozens of 4 & 5 * recruits EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!

TAMU showed the kids are going to the highest bidder, last recruiting cycle. NIL is a disaster. “There is going to have to be corrections.” are the words of a wise man, who understands ego management and the meaning of “team.”

So are these kids basically employees of whomever they have their NIL deal with? Guess someone will have some tax issues at some point.

Is an NIL expense ordinary and necessary to the running of any business?

I think it should be left alone for a couple of years to see how it goes. Look at the new landscape now with NIL and transfer portal. I rather this to continue and not let Alabama and other top teams get their way and gets to stock up on top talents every year. Time for a change and this is it. please leave it alone and let evaluate this in a couple of years. Yes the poor will be left out. Power of 5 will get stronger and the lower conferences will get left out.

I agree. I think the sponsors won’t keep spending big dollars because they won’t get their money back out of it. The market will work it all out on its own.

Bucko you're more than naive...this NIL thing is a bucket of crap and it's going to get much worse...you and the balance of the people who support this will be the biggest bitchers and complainers in less than two years.

If you think the Portal inhibits Alabama & Saban’s ability to get the best recruits ur nuts. What it does is allows them to “Recruit” players that have already PROVEN themselves for a couple seasons. 5* Recruits still run the risk of beings flops whereas an established player at another school has proven his worth so to speak.
