Brian Griese predicts that Alabama will beat LSU.
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN College Football Analyst Brian Griese shared his prediction for the LSU-Alabama game on the ESPN's SVP & Russilo today. Without predicting a winner, Griese pretty much said that Alabama will win on Saturday. Here is what he had to say:
quote:

"When I look at quarterback play, the most important thing is third-down. And there has not been a better quarterback in all of college football from an efficiency stand-point on third down then Blake Simms. And thats the game from a quarterback perspective, especially when you have a running tandem like Alabama has..."
Ryen Russilo then asked Griese if he worries about Blake Simms in this "spot" on the road Saturday night at LSU, and he quickly responded "Not at all."
quote:

"I don't think you are going to need 30 points to win this game. So if you score 24 points and you're Alabama, you are feeling really good about your chances. As long as Blake Simms does not make that big mistake and he's efficient and manages that offense and uses the weapons that he has, I think he will be fine in that situation."
Griese also picked:
(7) Kansas State over (6) TCU
(4) Oregon over (17) Utah
(8) Michigan State over (14) Ohio State
(10) Notre Dame over (9) Arizona State

BAMA had a winning record in Tiger Stadium. Google it.

Bama doesn't have a great record of success on the road this year. I think that says a lot more than the 15 games or whatever it was that Alabama won at Tiger Stadium without a loss the last few decades of the 1900s.

I heard griese and may's analysis they said nothing about LSU and the way our D has turned it around. There conversion was about Sims and how great their backs are. NO RESPECT AT ALL. Let us win oh please.

"No offense, but Brian Griese never played in Death Valley on Saturday night."

Or he recognizes that Bama has a higher winning % in the stadium than LSU does.

Some gonna have a very rough night if LSU can shut A Copper down in this game. I'm willing to bet if he is shut out bama scores no more than 10 with him 17 so LSU wins 21-10 Go Togers!

I haven't researched this, but I'm thinking Dak is probably much better on 3rd down

"When is the last time you even got close to 30 on Bama?"

If by "you" you mean LSU, LSU beat Bama 24 to 21 in 2010. And in 2007 LSU beat Bama 41 to 34. Otherwise, yeah, teams don't score much on Bama. The winning team usually has around 20-25 points, regardless of who wins the game.

LSU cannot turn the ball over Saturday.

He also picked LSU to finish last in the West, so he's just running with his own narrative. Nothing to see, here.

If our running backs don't fumble, we're a threat to score over 30 points in every game.
